I could be wrong, I believe the O/P was asking about the new all-in-one machine.?

The one machine washes and also dries the items.  Just one machine.

Yes, the stackable ones would be the same as two separate machines.

Anyway, sorry if I misread O/P's question.

You're probably right @ROMARY

OP never came back and specified.  But she may have meant a machine that washes first and then can be a dryer.

Can't wrap that concept around my head!

I have a GE stackable at my house and it's pretty good, but you can only wash small loads. I broke the drum with a fleece throw-

Mine can do really big loads.

But I freaked last night doing a long rubber back bath mat.  Had to stop cycle and re-arrange twice.  Won't do that again in my washer, although after I rearranged, it spun dry quite well.  I love my stackable too much to abuse it.  The rug was 60'' long.

Our dryer gave up the ghost last year, we had a Samsung set and I tell you I will never buy another Samsung set. Junk. So we bought the best we could afford, which was a Speed Queen set and it was not cheap. It is a Commercial set and the washer is FANTASTIC. The electric dryer however, gets so hot that it melted the aluminum vent cover inside the drum. Charred it black. So I ordered a new vent cover and replaced it, and had the thermostat reset. About a week later, the new vent cover was black too. No further adjustment can be made to control the heat temp and so all of our clothes

end up with sharp little black cinders stuck all over them! Bed linens, hundreds of dollars of clothes, ruined. After researching, it is a common problem, which Speed Queen will not put a recall on.

Oh no, and surely that's a fire risk as well.  I'm guessing it also uses a lot more electricity since it gets so hot. Maybe it was the Speed Queen dryer I read was too aggressive and ruining clothes. This was a few years ago when I was shopping for a washer and dryer.

I have no experience with them but I've seen them in NYC apartment tours that show up in Reels on Facebook.  I've also seen them on HouseHunters (probably International).  I don't think I'd like it but if you live in a house, etc. with extremely limited space, it would be better than nothing.
