We shopped at a super Walmart yesterday, and spent nearly $600.00 in two baskets, two trips through the checkout. A lot of pet things etc. Anyway we needed stamps, so asked for two books. Also $20.00 back in fives. She gave us back the receipt folded, the check and four fives, and I thought I saw stamps in there. so just put them in my purse.

Got home, no stamps. I went through my purse at least four tomes and Dh a couple. I then called Walmart and got CS, gave her the checker number and time etc. off the receipt, forgot to tell her to let me know, either way. So I called right back and explained if the checker balanced, she kept them, because we didnot get them.. I told her I know I sounded accusatory but that was the way it was.

I did tell CS we went through her line two times and she never said a word, so she probably just forgot.

This morning early got a call from CS and all they said was "bring your receipt and come pick up your stamps at CS"so I don't know what happened. They are $9.80 a book you know. I am glad I at least followed through on it

It doesn't sound like the cashier stole them. It sounds like she just forgot to put them in there, so her register was over.

Glad you got your stamps back. You probably freaked her out with so much stuff that she just forgot.

Indeed. The store will take care of the customer and can deal with the cashier as it sees fit.

I'd give the checker the benefit of making a mistake. I've had it happen a number of times. The checker and I became busy talking or finalizing the payment and lost track of the stamp order.

I really think it was just a mistake too, and my fault for not looking through it when she handed the money and stuff to me. I should have learned by now!{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

I wish I could count how many times I unloaded the groceries into the car, started it and went "MY STAMPS!" The checker will see me run in and we both get that look on our face. LOL {#emotions_dlg.blushing}
