@tansy   Hers was out for 24 hrs. She said no one there has a/c, huh? She claims it's not necessary. I couldn't make it without a/c and my ceiling fans. We were visiting one July and it was the hottest month on record. Lucky us, right?

@wagirl   Don't you need rain?  Or is snow preferred this time of year?

Sorry for all your rain troubles. I'm in the South and it rained today. Strangely, I just love rainy days. I've often thought I should live in Washington State. I'm never happier than when it's raining.

Today, I tried to figure it out in my past. I must have had some wonderful times in the rain. LOL. When it rains, there's a calmness and peacefulness that's just overwhelming. And when it does rain, I just wish it would continue every day.

Sunshine does not at all affect me like a beautiful rainy day.

A/C is becoming more common than it was when I moved up here in the eighties.  I am glad I have it.

@wagirl - LOL -  it is raining pigs and chickens, I have never heard of it put like that before, I've heard of it's raining like cats and dogs.

Hopefully the rain stops soon over there.

I know we had a lot of rain too, it started middle of the night and rained all day with heavy downpours. The river was so high that some of the leaves on the trees limbs were dangling in the water, had we gotten any more it would have hit the bottom of the bridge, course I guess it's better then what will be coming soon (snow).

@febe1 - I know what your saying I like when it rains at night, I sleep a lot better hearing the rain hit our awnings. We used to be able to hear it hitting the roof till we added more insulation up there and now you can't hear it. I just don't care for thunderstorms.

I went to Costco today for my booster - when I came out it was pouring.  I got soaked getting to the car!

@febe1   When it rains here in NC, I feel it's OK to stay in and get some things done that I've put off. We're having several days in a row of rain/storms now. I'm doing more of my packing up old books , whittling down of extra linens, etc. I love to cook big batches of sauce and soups for the freezer. Best of all, there's nothing better than sleeping in the rain with the window open...except maybe if I had a tin roof....hearing it on the gutters is sufficient.

@ValuSkr ---well--I think everyone needs rain anymore--except when it is in the extreme---yes we were in various stages of drought this year--had wild fires and such and that horrible heat dome in June--was 108* where I live---but pretty much get rained from now til June/July. Would love to see all this turn to snow in the mountains, but not  quite cold enough yet up there. this type of deluge is very common here tho.
