Saw it snow. Beautiful. Did not stick. Supposed to have 9" on Wednesday. Hardly wait.

@Katcat1 I live in NE PA, not lake effect snow. We aren't too awfully far from the NY state line.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I live in the Chicago area suburbs and when I was growing up we had snow and it would stay cold so it would be on the ground for a couple of months. Not any more. It snows and then it gets warmer so it melts. I actually miss the winters I experienced growing up. Happy Holidays to you.

Was speaking with friends and family all back in MD about it this morning. MIL found out that between the snow storm concerns and the vaccine delivery that Fed Ex will not be delivering a few of her orders till after Christmas (all were gifts). That jived with what I was told by CS of a meat company we order our Christmas meats from located in NJ: due to the storm and Fed Ex issues, people are hammering them via emails and phone calls regarding their deliveries of fresh and frozen meat. I called because the website wasn't working (found out why) and instead of having the meat delivered next week, it's coming overnight and should arrive tomorrow afternoon. She told me the company is preparing for a LOT of ruined orders and having to reship or refund because of it; the timing couldn't be worse, she said.
We're supposed to have to cold fronts come through down here; fingers crossed! All of you dealing with the snow: stay safe and warm.

@catter70 I can't even express how much I'm looking forward to this snow storm! After that dearth of snow last year, we are due! I don't think I will ever see enough snow. I also love "panic buying." It's fun to go out right before the storm and share the experience with the wild-eyed shoppers buying 10 pounds of flour, five dozen eggs, six gallons of milk and 8 loaves of bread. The best part of the snow storm is everyone taking a break and helping each other as neighbors. We all come out and socialize while we clear the driveways. We really need that right now.

Being from NE my Jeep and I love it! :-) We haven't had much snow in the last few years so I'm looking forward to it! Going to have clam chowder, cheddar bay biscuts, steamed shrimp and salmon. :-) Have to enjoy it while we can since Christmas week already looks like the temps will be back in the 50s.

I love snow and we've already had more than we normally have most winters, 3 separate storms with the 10 " one being the most. There's still a bit on the ground a we e k later which is very unusual but it 's been very cold. I also don't have to go anywhere. Our wind chill temp this morning was 8°.

There are some of us that would give anything to see snow, especially this time of year!

@Katcat1 When we moved a ton of snow had melted but next to the new place was a hill and there was still snow on it.
We heard this noise and the whole hill of snow slid down and went into the road. I guess water from melted snow further up got under the snow cover and away it went. There were 5 of us at the window with our mouths hanging open. 5 people were saying various versions of holy &%(#$%.
I had never seen that before or since. Luckily, there were no cars on the road when the mess finally stopped.

I know! (I'm in the north end of SE Pa.) But all the fun's taken out of it when the college semester is over and everyone's home, anyway.
I got my walking boots, so I'm all set for Wed &Th!
