Initially these works well on my legs but within 2 days I my legs became terribly itchy but only at night. I ended up wit welts all over my legs.

Any self tanner I've used made me smell like Fritos.

Why does anyone want to look tan? I can't think of anyone over the age of 25 who looks good with one real or otherwise.

Totally disagree

People who know you don't.

Tan Towels are the easiest to apply and make no mess, try these first.

Tan Towels are the best I've use. The easiest as well.

Most everyone looks better with a little color.

I just want a hint of color on my legs. I feel naked with scary white legs.

You probably have an image in your mind of a darkly tanned woman. Tanning doesn't have to be dark. It can be a shade darker than your own skin. For example, if someone uses a fair foundation, they may use a self-tanner to achieve what would look like a medium tone foundation, which is just a tad darker for them. It just gives them the look of being outdoors in the spring and summer, not like they've been baking on a beach for hours.

Or god forbid I head out in the summer in a sleeveless top with scary white pasty arms!

A hint of tan actually makes your legs and arms look slimmer/firmer which is another plus and if you do have muscles it can define them. And i never wear foundation in the Summer when I have a slight faux tan. Much ""lighter feel"" than make-up.

Agree with the poster that said Jergens is awful smelling. My Dh bought some and I knew he'd tried it before he even entered the room. Threw that stuff right out.

In my opinion, nearly everyone looks bad pasty white and a little (not orangey) color looks better. The better self tanners don't look orange but every drugstore one I've tried does not look natural on me. No one thinks I use self tanner and I get so many compliments on my great looking tan. I do, however, enjoy a little sun also so the sun creates more color added to my self tan. I can usually tell self tanners because most don't apply smoothly but spite of a little blotchiness they still look better than with pasty white vein streaked appendages.

In the end it's not my call and everyone can choose to go with the pasty white or tan and it's what like they like and feel comfortable with.
