In honor of Elton John's March 25 birthday, here he is singing "Daniel", one of the most poignant of the songs he created with Bernie Taupin. Presumably done from the perspective of a younger brother of a soldier, (I've heard the story, but not sure if that is 100% correct) it tugs at the heartstrings:

First saw him in 1976 ~ enjoyed many concerts since then ~ Love him!!!!

@Oznell Love that song. A little off topic, but there is a movie coming out about Elton John. It's called Rocketman. I believe it will be out in May. Should be entertaining. I saw him in concert about 10 years ago. It was great.

@Irish1210 I've been a fan of Elton's ever since I can remember. I saw Billy Joel in concert in 1978 lol.

Around Christmas time there was a British commercial featureing EJ as a young child and then growing into adulthood..........showing his love of music and receiving his first piano. Brought tears to my eyes.......

I saw EJ and BJ together in Syracuse a few years back (maybe 15-20?) ~

Concert was called "Dueling Pianos"............It was great

I love to see how a gifted performer evolves over time, especially handling the same material. It's interesting to contrast his youthful "Daniel" with this mature, rather raw, soulful version. Each very memorable in its own way....
