Is there any way to privately message someone on these boards? I thought that we used to be able to do this in the past

Sorry and I do not mean to sound snarky but never was and never will, I can not imagine what would happen to some of the less popular posters if there were private messages on here.

Terrible idea! Even if sent in friendship, I would not want to be open to receiving emails from strangers.

You can start a thread with their nic ,and hope they answer you. Of course it won't be private

@leeleeB- I've been here forever, years longer than my date shows. 

You're kind of correct. WAY back when, years and years ago, there were two features here. The message boards/forums, like we have now and they also had a chat room which was a live, interactive chat feature. 

But there has never ever been a private message feature, that I remember.

They have indeed. 

While it's a nice idea in theory and it would be good for some posters, it is, as has been said, a recipe for disaster as far as the forum and its posters in general. There is more potential for it to used for ill than for good. I think it's wise that there are no plans to institute it.

I am one of the less popular posters and heaven forbid any sort of private messaging would be initiated... For some of us it's bad enough being shredded publicly.. I shiver to think how horrible it would be with PM's.. Glad it isn't in the works!!!
