The National Weather Service is saying about a foot here in my part of South Jersey. A lot depends on how the storm moves. If it moves faster, we get less snow. If it slows down or stalls we get more. If it stays close to the coast we could get more rain/sleet. If it moves a bit more offshore, we'll get more snow.

The worst storm I've ever dealt with was a mid-March snowstorm back in 93. We had a foot of snow, then three hours of heavy rain that penetrated through the snow, then the temps nose-dived freezing the whole mess solid. I was out for over twelve hours chiseling/carving out frozen blocks of snow in sub-zero windchills. As long as we don't get a repeat of that, I'll be okay.

Oh no, G'man!  I looked online and saw 1-3 for Ocean City.  Are you in Cape May County?

We're supposed to get our HVAC and ductwork installed this week.  Ugh!!

Maybe the rain will hug the coast?  It's supposed to be above freezing.

I look at Accu-Weather online.  That's the channel we watch when we are up there.

Re: northeaster coming

[ Edited ]

Snow remains on coldest surfaces here on LI, and snow totals weather folks are saying to be about 12-24" depending on the way the storm tracks.

Stay safe everyone!!

Yes, that's our forecast for north NJ.  Supermarket and gas station was super busy this morning.  I will have to reschedule a doctor's appointment and a vehicle maintenance appointment.  Not much one can do except wait for the storm to pass.

I am ok with being snowed in for a day or two but my husband gets very restless and anxious.  We have a 4 wheel drive SUV and he will want to get out as soon as the roads are plowed.

Hate the thoughts of a power outage since being out for over a week several times between 2011-2013. I guess this storm will require us to be ready for anything!

Yes the power outage is what upsets me..No heat--food spoilage---Maybe no phone service---sooner or later cells will need charging.   It's a bit scary.

My area of southern WV is expected to see 2-5", which is not a big deal for us.   Since the calendar says it's still winter, I'd like to have typical winter weather now.   Snow is very important to us, and even if we get the full 5", we are still not at half the amount of snowfall we typically see in a normal winter.

I am in North NJ too,  at this time of year I think it will melt quickly,  no one gets stuck more than a day in the house,

unless it;s something like the awful Halloween storm and Sandy, which it's not going to be.

I guess I picked the right week to leave my upstate NY home to visit family in Florida. The weather is lovely but my beagle is at the kennel and my cleaning lady is supposed to supervise the recarpeting of my house this week. Whether that will happen is anyone's guess. I've been in touch with everyone, including my neighbors, but only Mother Nature will decide whether we get the 12 to 18 inches of snow that is forecast.

I'm in the 12 to 24 inches area and farther north may get 28! Sigh, that's a lot of digging out.

To the poster who just moved east - enjoy. It is a PITA but parts of it are beautiful. Just be very careful driving when you do go out.
