I woke up around midnight to the sound of snowplows and slow traffic. Then at four I woke up again and traffic was flying by. The snow had turned to rain and it was raining hard. We've been largely stuck in a very cold, heavy rain since I woke up. The rain will seriously limit the snow accumulation. We have maybe an inch of slushy stuff on the grass now and that's about all. It's still supposed to turn back to snow, but the longer it takes, the less snow we'll end up with, so that's good.

I'm actually glad for the snow which means its warmed up a bit-

The cold snap and wind has kept my Goldies in the last few days so they'll be able to get some much needed exercise in the snow they love-

I'm in the metro-DC area and we're supposed to get 6-12 inches....depending on which station you listen to.

I'm in Northern VA and so far - early Tues morning - it looks like we got about an inch where I am.  I can still see the grass - which is good since we were told to expect a lot more.  It's funny - according to the radar, we are in the midst of serious snow right now - and yet I look outside and nothing is happening.

I'm in Central NJ and woke up to something pelting the screens - it was still dark and couldn't tell if it was rain or sleet.  I stilll can't tell what it is, every once in a while there is a flake or two.

There is stuff on the ground, ice on the cars and not nice out there right now.

We were supposed to get 8-12 inches here in the Philadelphia area.  But so far it looks more like 3-4 inches with sleet/ice on top.  I think we are supposed to get more snow on top.

The sad thing is that all the flowers and the blossoms on the trees have died.

I get Pittsburgh weather on my computer and it appears they only got a small amount. Much ado about nothing. My friends - who were planning to stay home today - instead had to go to work. That would be dissappointing.

The sun's out here in my part of South Jersey (Salem County.) We have about an inch of a slushy mess. The wind is howling something awful, but that's been the worst part. The rain/snow line shifted far enough to the west to keep us in the rain part. Eighteen hours ago they were calling for a foot of snow, so I'm pretty happy with just an inch. This stuff should melt away pretty quickly too.

Sun is peeking out.  We got about 3-4" We could have gotten more, but unfortunately we have a layer of ice over the snow.  Tomorrow it will be worse, because the temps will stay below freezing. My school was closed today.  Probably we will be open tomorrow, but it's going to be a little tough moving around all that ice.

Looks like we got about 6" and then we had rain and wind! The snow was heavy to shovel, which I did after the snow blower.

The birds are fighting each other for my 2 feeders and I saw 2 starlings taking a bird bath in the plastic saucer I use as a water source for animals in the winter.
