@Group 5 minus 1 , yup, we always said take the paper, too. Haven't heard that in awhile.

I have a digital subscription to my local paper, several large city papers, and the WSJ fit something like $20 a month. I read it on my tablet.

I remember as a kid sometimes my father would go out Sunday morning for the paper and pick up bagels and spreads.

I love getting the actual newspaper--the feel of the paper, the daily puzzles, the ability to clip articles.

I think $6.00 is a very reasonable price for a Sunday paper.

(Newspapers and stamps are two of life's best bargains.)

@catter70 @My newspaper wants to charge a lot extra for all the special puzzles, sports issues, graduation issues, etc. I told them I can't tell how much I'm paying because they don't even know how many special issues there will be. They said I don't have to pay for them. BUT MY COMICS ARE SMALLER & not in color!

sorry but I would not pay 50 cents for a freaking newspaper.  You can get all the news you want on the internet.  Save the trees and save your cash

Finally convinced my DH to give up having a paper delivered. He always loved reading it with his breakfast. It got way too expensive, yet the actual paper kept getting smaller. It was a great hometown paper when it was run by a local family, but when they sold it, it went downhill.

We get the online version now just to keep up with local news. We get more details in the online stories than on our local TV channels. Everything is so condensed & lots of it is slanted. We read lots of onlind news from various sources and filter through the junk.
