@Mz iMac , that's where I looked and it says 0 pieces of mail.

@catter70  "Magazines" are not considered "mailpieces."  At least at my local PO.

I signed up for this yesterday a.m. after receiving my code. It says today that I'm getting no mail, but I received 3 magazines. Is this only for certain mail or do I need to do something more?

@catter70

If you read your Informed Delivery emails, they say "Coming To Your Mailbox Soon".  It doesn't necessarily mean you'll get each and every piece that particular day.  Usually I do receive everything the day of the email, but not always.  Sometimes a letter will come a day or two later.  So I keep an eye out for it.  If you don't receive something within a few days, it tells you to report it to the USPS.

Since you just signed up for the service yesterday, your packages were already in the system and it was too late for a notification to you.  Like @Mz iMac , I receive a notification on the email if I'm receiving a package.  It doesn't scan the package like it does the letters, but it will give you the tracking number and sender name below the letter scans.

It also doesn't scan magazines or large envelopes, only letter size.  It will only say you have a piece of mail that they don't have an image for.

So does mine!  It's the only Post Office in town.

I´ve had this service for years and so far I have to give credit to the Postal Workers at my Post Office.

Even though notification for packages show up on my Informed Delivery list, I still check the tracking from where I ordered to see if it was delivered at my box or at my front door.

@catter70

If USPS does not have a mailing piece they wont show the item....happens with some of the junk mail too...... once in awhile Informed Delivery will be a day behind too....But most of the time I do find it helpful especially when there's actually an important piece of mail waiting for me, then I know to high tail it down to the Mailbox!!!  (health insurance, bank info, cards etc)......

Mine also does not show magazines, grocery ads or "junk mail".  I get pictures of everything else.  The packages are listed but with no pictures.  I don't have a locking mail box so I like to know what is coming.

I have had informed delivery for a few years. It will only send you photos of mail that is  scanned, so mostly first class mail and some junk mail pieces. We have such awful mail service in our area, it basically helps me know what mail I didn't get. It doesn't scan packages, only the label, so you will know the sender; then you'll know what is coming. Overall, it's very helpful. Good to know if it is worth the walk to the mailbox when it's raining!
Many packages I have received didn't show up since they were processed by UPS, then handed off to USPS for delivery
