Hi cute, always such fun hearing from you. Am hoping you are enjoying the day. Grateful for good weather. So nice that they are honoring the vets. I've heard that seeing the Viet Nam Wall is a very moving thing. So simple, just names, so many names.

I'm sure you ate stuff you don't normally eat, but it's a once a year thing. Glad you enjoyed it and so happy to hear that your DD is doing so well. Buying her own clothes is a big deal. I remember how you have sometimes gotten things for her. Nice that they are celebrating and have ice cream and dancing. She deserves to be happy and enjoy her life.

Wish I knew what is wrong with your computer...not letting you on Face Book. I asked DD because she is tech savvy and she said maybe it's a good thing! She's very private and would never go on face book....me either. Maybe I get that from her. She's very cautious and doesn't for a minute think anything is really private. Probably one of your family members can help you, or you could call the computer company and ask them.

Have you had time to watch any of the Christmas programming on the Q? I look sometimes, but am tempted to buy and just need to stop. Have one thing on the way, and some things on advanced order for November. Christmas for DD and me.

It's in the low 80s today. So much better than the 108 we had last weekend. Thankful. Enjoy your weekend. Maybe you are worn out after all that fun.

Hi to everyone! The weather here, while warm, has been beautiful the last few days. Hints in the air of REAL fall, and I can't wait. I love the cooler weather. This summer has FLOWN by. I just talked to a neighbor who said she never wishes for anything to go by quickly, now that she is older. She savors every minute of every day, no matter what's going on. She most definitely has awareness of the passing of time (and the right attitude about it).

Speaking of the right attitude: Devia, you and your DH have the most fun! Your town is a lively place, and you both enjoy every minute of it. Good for the soul to hear about it, so thanks for sharing. I'm happy that Maybelline did not get any raindrops on her suh-weet self. Smiley Wink

Snappy, did the ants ever march out of your kitchen? I hope so. I've heard about lots and lots of ants in California, no doubt because of the very dry and hot weather. They are looking for water, I am guessing, and are so desperate that they'd come into your house even with DD#2's Raid spray! Happy to hear that the new windows are installed in your house and that your DS and DDIL have a renovated kitchen. Now for GS's teeth ... what can you do, though, but hope he'll get them fixed.

Issy, I am also avoiding HQ because I don't want to buy anything, including Skinn. It's been over 30 days -- maybe 45 or even 60! -- since I've made a purchase here, next door, or HQ. I have been working on purging, not acquiring. I have enough to last me for awhile, and I'm proud of myself for resisting temptation. If I watch, I will surely be tempted (so no watching).

Hi to Danky and Waja! Waja, I love the Evoque ... very attractive. Do you love it? And Danky, you and your DH have lived an exciting life ... wish we could all come to your house for dinner! Smiley Happy How I would love to watch your DH prepare a meal. Do you and he watch the Top Chef shows on BravoTV? I am wondering if he's ever been a guest judge on the show!

By the way, I agree about holiday gift-giving. A few years ago, our family agreed that only the children would receive gifts; the older children receive money, which is what they prefer anyway. It has relieved a lot of pressure at the holidays.

I wish you all a good weekend.

Hi MsLomo, so nice to see you today. It's in the low 80s here. Such a relief from that awful heat, but I think it's going back into the 90s by mid week. We still have ants, but not hordes of them. A little while ago there were two of them crawling on ME as I sat here on the sofa reading my Bible. Really? We are still using paper plates and plastic spoons, etc. If we were to put things in the dishwasher, I know it would be full of ants. Yes, they come in for water, and who can blame them? I offer to put water outside and even sugar, but they don't speak English. Glad you are also on the no gifts bank wagon. Yesterday I sent an email to DS and DDIL telling them my thoughts about it, but so far no response. I know it's way early, but I am someone who likes to buy early. It would be a huge relief to me and I think to most everyone else. Don't you love WaJa? I know she is terribly busy, and won't be here often, but she is something else. Great woman, hard working, fun loving and wi/ck/ed smart! Talked with DDIL about GS's teeth. She found a dentist in a not too distant town who sometimes does work for free, and told him, but I doubt he's done anything about it. Maybe when one of those teeth starts hurting like crazy he will. Are you finding any Gold fish crackers these days?

cute, I guess by now the Corvette fest is over, and you are sad about that. But it sounds like you have had a wonderful time. Lots of fun, good food, music and seeing old and new friends. I quite agree that your town knows how to have fun.

I don't like the sound of heat lightening! Hope that stops. Am glad you persevered and figured out how to work with your computer and get on face book. I know that is important to you. Proud of you, girl!

Glad you have the band music to look forward to for next Saturday. Also to know that the baby bunny is doing okay. Will he hole up somewhere when the weather gets cold? Maybe he would like to share the Florida room with Lucky and Brooster????

I hear you about cutting back on expenses. I've been writing down every cent I spend this month to see where I need to make changes because I'm spending more than I'm earning which means dipping into savings. Not a good thing.

Hi to Issy, bath, WaJa and all you dear friends,

Hi cute, glad to hear from you today. It's in the 80s here. My blow dryer was dead on Saturday when I tried to use it, and the hand set for my cordless land line also went dead, so I went out this morning before it got hot and bought new ones. Prayed I'd make wise choices. The dryer works, and I'll see about setting up the phone or let DD do it later. I have a cell phone, but they always cut out and calls get dropped, so I keep the land line. I know young people don't even have them, and they are costly, but I like the reliability.

I'm sure it is a bit sad to put Maybelline away for the winter and take off the flags, etc. The way time flies, it will be this time next year before you know it. Glad you have a new garage door opener, and that your hubby can do that. It's hard to get all those things done when our hubbies aren't here anymore.

Happy to know the bunny is still there and that he enjoys your flowers. If you want some of Joan's jewelry, I'm glad it's still there for you. Still hard to think she is gone. Sometimes I think about Dusty, and miss her also. Life is a vapor.

The gardeners are here right now. The lawns are so dry and I don't really think they even need to be cut, but these men don't speak English and we don't want to lose their service. DD and I could never take care of the yards ourselves.

Thank you for being here. Hi to Issy, bath, MsLomo, WaJa, and all our other friends.

Hi Snappy; good to see you. I, too, sometimes think about Dusty. I see that her breakfast thread is still going strong. Sorry to hear about your blow dryer and phone. I remember once that I had a head full of dripping wet hair, and my blow dryer went "ker plunk". I was in a panic.

Hi Cute; so glad that you had a blast at the funfest, and I love your new white carpet. Lucky could get lost in it for sure. I am also amazed and grateful that your DD is doing so well. I see that she went out and purchased a new outfit for herself!!! That is encouraging.

Hi MsLomo......well, famous last words. I watched Dimitri, and purchased both of the TTV's. I really was out of the collagenisis, so at least that is how I justified that purchase. I have just about switched over to Skinn exclusively.

Hi Bathina; hope that you are well. We miss you. Hello to all of the wonderful ladies of the Q. I need to get something to eat.

Issy, I also see Dusty's name on that thread. Bittersweet feelings for sure. I hear you about wet hair and a non working dryer. Fortunately for me, DD has one so I borrowed it. My old one had lasted for many years, so I can't complain. DD set up my new phone, but hasn't put in the settings, etc. I don't know what the ring tone sounds like. Am going to see my PC doc in a little while. Routine. I think he likes to keep track of his old lady patients. LOL! I'm going to find the car passing right by *bucks....hmmm. We will see if it drives through or not.

cute, glad you are having such nice weather. It went up to 90 yesterday, warmer today. But, it's quite comfortable in the house now without the AC. I'll put it on later to cool things down before night. For sure I don't need anymore stuff either. Haven't heard from my DS and DDIL regarding their thoughts about stopping gift giving at Christmas. Can't imagine they would have a problem with it, but I'd like them to be happy about it. Both my girls are. It would be such a relief to not have to try to figure out what to buy and keeping things "even" so nobody feels slighted. If they want to stay with our current method...gift giving..I'm just going to give each one the same amount of cash and not worry about shopping.

Oh, DD said they were going to have an offer on hubby's unit today. No word about that yet, so I'm praying for a fair price.

Need to get moving here, but wanted to say hi to all of you dear ones. Hi MsLomo, bath, WaJa, Lurky and all others.
