Hi cute, it's not raining here now, but we got a lot yesterday and last night. So thankful that it stayed dry during Open House, but rained after DD got home. Am happy for her that it is over. There's still a little more than a month left before summer vacation, but lots to do. They have a big celebration for Flag Day and that's ahead. Her kids were over the moon excited last night.

Sorry you haven't heard from the carpet people. Maybe you should call just to see what's going on, but of course the weather needs to be dry at least. Sorry your lawn mower has an "owie". I should know you would keep on mowing even so.

Thanks for praying for SIL. DD said the sores are starting to heal. The stuff inside is drying out and scabbing. Didn't mention the nerve pain, so maybe it's getting better.

She is off now with others to a women's retreat for the weekend. Such a busy person. Retirement for her was a good idea and has worked out well.

Glad your SIL is doing well. Keeping busy with family functions. I'm proud of how she has moved on with her life. I know she misses your DB, and so do you.

Am eager to have our gates put in tomorrow. Say...the sun is coming out! Have a nice evening, and thanks for stopping by.

Hey, Snappy. So glad that the gates will be installed tomorrow. My fence is redwood--stained, and it goes with the redwood trim on the front of the house. 2 of my neighbors have those tall palm trees in their back yards. They sway in the wind. We did get a little rain last night, but I was sound asleep when it happened. I looked around the neighborhood while driving home and I did notice that some of the lawns are not as green--some yellow patches. Some people have dug up the grass and are putting in drought resistant plants.

So happy that the school open house went well. I remember how exciting it used to be. DD#2 is doing so well in her profession and also being a "home owner". You have made so many beautiful improvements. Did you have the entire interior painted recently? I don't remember.

Hi Cute; thanks for stopping by. Love your potato recipe; that sounds simply delicious. Hope that your family in Texas is doing okay with all of the bad weather. I can't remember a time when we have had so many tornadoes, etc. Have you seen the little twins that were born in your neighborhood about 2 or 3 years ago?

Hi MsLomo; hope that you come to visit soon. We miss you. Hello to all of the wonderful ladies of the Q.

Hi Issy, the man is here now working on the gates. He told DD it will take 4 or 5 hours to do the whole job. He charges a small amount to take away the old ones, but we are happy to pay it. DD took pictures of them since hubby was the builder. Had to get up earlier today, and feel like I could go to sleep right now.

It's still cool, dark, cloudy here. Don't know whether or not we will get more rain from this storm. Hope so. We have large yards, so we would have to hire people to take out the grass and put in drought tolerant plants. Gs and his wife did their front yard, with a rebate from their city. But it's a small area and they are young and strong.

Has your city posted what restrictions they are imposing on you? Ours hasn't. I know they aren't watering the median or running the fountains at the shopping centers.

We haven't painted inside for years except the bathrooms after the remodel. The LR/DR hall need it. Maybe this summer. We haven't heard back from the man who is going to do the outside, but it hasn't been very long.

A few years ago DD had a boy in her first grade class who was NASCAR all the way. He would give the "report" every Monday after the races. He and his family were at open house. He's going into high school in the fall. He still has the AFLAC duck DD gave him. Told her one of the drivers gave him his COKE recently so he put it on the shelf right by the duck! Those are the fun things about teaching.

Hope you have a good weekend, Issy. I love you also.

Hi cute, glad you got more rain and also got the lawn mowed. It's still gray and cool here, but dry. There's a chance of some sprinkles this week. As you say, anything is better than nothing. The gates look just great! We love them. So new and modern and they go so well with the house. Once we get the painting done and the new porch lights, it will all tie in together out there and be so nice.

Glad you understand about the AFLAC ducks. They are sponsors for NASCAR which is why DD had one, and one of our family members sells that insurance also. Your little GGD must have been so darling! Last night I was wondering how Hal is doing and realizing he is past all the baby speech by now. Made me a bit sad. Kindu! Hope bath is okay.

Sorry you are going to have to wait for your outdoor carpeting. People don't use that out here. Sometimes in an enclosed porch, but not on sidewalks or patios. Is it common to do that where you live? Hope you can find something you can afford. It's disappointing when you have counted on things and then find out you can't have them. {#emotions_dlg.crying} Knowing you, you will be fine.

DD#1 is on her way home from the retreat. They had a good time.

Good to see you today. Hi to Issy, MsLomo and all..

Hi there cute, thanks for explaining about why people use outdoor carpeting. I forget about the seasons never having lived in that climate. Learn something every day. So happy you saw the bunny again. We are really happy with the gates. The metal frame and trim work make them special. Went out a while ago to put the trash can away, and opened the gate for the first time. It's unlocked for the gardeners today, but it has a dead bolt and a key.

I watched Marie with the Body Gym and ordered one. So inexpensive and I so need to do something to strengthen myself and get more flexible. I'm stiff and rigid and it's almost impossible to get up off the floor. She said the leg exercises can be done lying on the bed, so I'll try that. My doc told me to get something like that so I know it's okay to use it. I really hate exercising, but figure this is easy. I can just sit in my usual place and work my arms and abs. Also ordered the Breezies panties this morning. Have a lot of them, but some are old so I'll toss them.

So glad your hubby was able to fix the handle on the lawnmower. You are in business again. DD and I miss dad being able to do all those things. I bought some ceramic flowers to hang in my bathroom, but they will need a hook that is anchored in the wall, so they sit on the floor waiting for someone to come who knows how to do that.

It's gray and cool today. We might get more sprinkles this week. Hope so. Have a nice evening.

Hi cute, when DD saw the Body Gym being sold, she said "I hope you don't order that". Ha. I told her I already had. See, I impulse buy. Got a massager and tried it once. Got the little Monster Vac and haven't taken it out of the box. But I will, and I think it will be something I can use. Just finished washing the tile floors. I get tired doing that, but can't stand knowing they are so dirty.

Sorry the bunny is afraid of you, but guess that's a protection to him. Lots of people might hurt him so he keeps his distance. At least we know he's okay.

Does your town do anything special for Memorial Day? We don't as far as I know. Our family has never had a BBQ for that day. We used to always have one on the 4th of July. Mom's birthday was the 7th, so we celebrated it on the 4th. I really don't have any interest in going out to the patriotic shows. We watch them on TV and I enjoy that.

Sometimes we have to go through our closets and the drawers. I usually find things I can't remember or can't figure out why I have kept them so long. Out they go. DD and I need to go through some cupboards and the den closet this summer. I can't do that alone. She told me last night that there are 21 days of school left. I guess there are 20 after today.

Nice to chat with you and I do hope everyone is okay. Imagine some will take a weekend trip. Homebodies like me will be glad to be inside.

Hi Cute: good to see you here. Glad that your got your outdoor carpet. It makes a great difference, especially in the winter time. I am surprised that baby bunny is afraid of you. Guess that he is just being cautious because of all the danger that is around him. Two little girls down the street had a pet rabbit that would get out and come into my yard and eat my pretty pink petunias. Don't know what happened to him.

Hi Snappy; so glad that your gates were installed and that you and your daughter like them. It makes a big difference. I was looking around my yard, and discovered that I have 3 beautiful ferns near my front steps. I didn't think that they would survive considering that I haven't watered them at all. Anyway.....20 more days of school for DD#2. I didn't realize that Memorial Day is this Monday. I thought that it was the following week. The days are just flying by. My brother and SIL are in New York City. I received a call from him yesterday as he and his wife were walking down the street looking up at the Empire State Building. Must be nice!!!

I hear you about impulse buying. I used to shop so much that I bought the same pair of earrings 3 times! I was looking thru my stash and found out that I had 3 pairs. I gave one pair of earrings to Joan and made a necklace out of the other extra pair. I was thinking about all of you wonderful ladies a few days ago. I said to myself........if we all didn't like to shop, etc., none of us would have ever met. We are all different, but alike in so many ways. I enjoy chatting with all of you so much.

Have a great day, ladies.
