Hi Waja; thanks for the information. Had to "create" a nickname. Honestly. Anyway, it is good to see you here. Is Princess Gracie all ready for the wedding?

Hi Snappy; good to see you here. Love the colors for your exterior painting. I just am crazy about the red door. That is going to be so pretty. This man came into the office for a meeting, and when he was leaving, he asked me "what fragrance are you wearing?" I told him that it was Obsession by Calvin Klein. He told me that it is sensational.

BTW, I went to Ross to buy my neighbor, Joan her birthday gift. I found the gift in 3 minutes. I walked over to the shoes and found 2 beautiful pairs of blinged out sandals. One pair had beige straps, with peach/beige/clear/pink/light blue rhinestone flowers all over the straps. The other pair had white straps with clear rhinestones on them. I was so happy. I gave Joan the peach/beige, etc. for her birthday on Saturday, along with a peach colored lounging outfit--she loved it. I went over to her house at 4:00 p.m. and stayed until 11:00 p.m. Glad that you had a nice Mother's Day with your family.

Hi Cute; so you received your Anthony tote bag. You are one lucky lady. I am so happy that you heard from all of your family on Mother's Day. My neighbor, Joan's birthday is May 9th and then she celebrates Mother's Day on Sunday. So it was "party weekend" for her.

Hi Delaney; so happy that you are having a good time with your gram. I can't even imagine the kind of weather that you have in your neck of the woods. Of course, here in CA we are experiencing a very serious drought. I have been conserving water for a long time. I don't run the dishwasher, and am careful about doing the laundry; not letting the water just run when washing my hands, etc. My plants outside seem for the most part to be surviving.

Hello, MsLomo; hope that you are well. Hi Lurky, Bathina, Selah, Rowan, Hilo and all of the wonderful ladies of the Q.

Hello back to you, Issy! So glad to see you were able to sign in. I hope all the other ladies here have as much luck. I just typed in my same old nickname and here I am. Who knows what will happen next time I try. Love reading you ladies daily doings. I'm praying for rain for CA. Such a shame to have to watch things dry up and die.

Snappy, your son's home renovations sound beautiful! I just love mahogany anyway and don't see it much anymore. Left you a message on KS.

cute t, I have lost more posts than I can count here and I'm the slowest typist on the face of the earth anyway. Take care in the heat while you're mowing and enjoy your new tote!

Have a nice evening, ladies. Smile

Hi friends. I just typed in my same old nickname and here I am. Glad you all made it as well.

cute, so nice that you had rain. We just might get a little on Thursday or Friday. Hope so for many reasons. The lawns look so much better after God waters them than after we do. Maybe all the additives we put in our water isn't good for them. DSIL is doing okay. Has sores. What I hope the most is that he doesn't develop the nerve pain that so many get. One of my oldest friends had them and the pain persists even years later. Hope you did call the people about the carpeting, and that the weather allows installation soon. I know you are looking forward to having it.

WaJa, so glad you are enjoying gardening weather. Finally. Thanks for the sign in information. What's that all about? When I was over on Viewpoints the last few days there was talk of trouble makers, but I didn't see any, or maybe just didn't recognize them.

Issy, I was hoping for a red door, so am glad DD is okay with it. The approach to our front door is covered, so it won't be visible from the street. I'll just have to go out and look at it now and then. The light fixture for out back came. It's lovely. You are a world class shopper. Joan must have been thrilled with what you gave her. It's nice to have a friend nearby. Girl, men just follow you around, perfume or no perfume.

Lurky, thank you for praying for rain for us. We might get a little. Trying like Issy to conserve. Glad we got one of the new low water washers and we also never use our dishwasher. Would you believe we have been using paper and plastic for nearly a year? It was June when the ants took over the house and we started using things we could toss. We just continue to do that. We generate a lot of trash. I'll be going to KS soon. See you there.

Hi MsLomo and all our friends,

Hi Cute; no problem signing in today. What a relief. Glad that you like mowing the lawn. If it ain't broke........don't fix it is my motto! I thought of you last night when I was driving home because I passed a lot of palm trees. Sorry that your palm didn't make it. Perhaps you can plant another kind of tree that is native to your area. I know that you planted the palm tree in honor of your relatives.

Snappy, I know that DD#2 will be so glad when school is out. She can catch up on her rest and take a load off of her feet--no pun intended. How long is school summer vacation?

Hi MsLomo.........hope that you are doing okay. Hi Delaney, Lurky, Waja and Princess Gracie, Selah, Rowan, Bathina, AgnesAnn and Jacob, Hilo and QAnu. Have a great day. We are suppose to get rain in CA. Hope so.

Hi cute, hubby had a power mower, but couldn't use it after his by-pass surgery. It's probably out in the shed along with some nasty critters. DD and I were talking about having the menfolk come out and go through all the stuff in there. Don't know how they would feel about it. You are amazing to me. I wouldn't even be able to push the mower let alone enjoy it, but you are a hard worker and I know you like the sense of accomplishment you get from doing it yourself. Did the carpet people contact you? Got out to Target earlier today. It's sort of cloudy and cooler. We are supposed to get rain tomorrow and Friday. Hope so, but tomorrow night is DD's Open House. She's working hard in her room to make it special for the kids and adults who come. Her toe looks fine, but it still hurts up into her shin and even the calf. I reminded her that one thing is connected to another and we walk differently when we have an "owie".

Glad you heard from your family, and that you are going to get together around Memorial Day. Can you believe how fast the years fly by?

Issy, there are lots of palm trees around here also. People on a nearby street have the kind that have long "trunks" and the leaves are up so high that people have to use equipment to get up to the top to trim them. They are growing in a row between 2 houses. School is out sometime in maybe the 3rd week of June, but DD stays longer to get her room in shape. They have to put up all the chairs and move the desks "in case" they clean in there. Then she also goes back in the latter part of August to get things back in shape. There have been summers when she has had to take classes or attend a seminar. She's grateful for the time off. They are 10 month employees. She found out yesterday that only 13 employees in the district have been there longer than she has. They will want to get rid of her soon because they can hire a young person and pay them lots less, but she wants to continue to work until she gets her whole pension which she will need.

DD#1 told me that her hubby has started having the nerve pain associated with shingles. Don't know how bad it is, but think he is going to see his PC doc. It's so very nice to talk with you here. We have been together for many years. I think it was 2007 when we found out about hubby's cancer. His treatments were the next year. You matter to me, and I'm grateful to know you.

Hi Cute; thanks for stopping by. I don't have much grass in my front yard--mainly the parking strips and a little grass (5 ft.) from the sidewalk. I have some ground cover and a big flower bed in the middle of the area with the white rock and pink petunias. BTW, Sidewalk Superintendent No. 2 came over and cut the grass in the parking strip this past Monday. He sometimes just cuts it when he cuts his own lawn--isn't that nice.

To all the readers here that haven't heard about my garden hopper experience. Here is the story. I purchased a little "garden hopper" from Home Depot. It looks like a children's toy--you sit on it and do your gardening. It has 4 wheels. Well, one day I was on a roll, pulling weeds and moving down my driveway. All of a sudden, the garden hopper started rolling down the steep driveway, with my hanging on for dear life. I couldn't stop the thing. Anyway.....it rolled down the driveway and I fell off of it in the gutter. I was dusty and dirty but not hurt. Naturally, everybody in the neighborhood was outside. I was mortified.

Hi Snappy; yes, we have been together a long time--through thick and thin. Your story was so compelling and you truly touched my heart. I love you and you have always been a comfort for me. You have a gift for always saying the right thing. I didn't know that DD#2 had to move furniture, etc. I hope that she can stay there so that she can get her full pension; she certainly deserves that and much more. Sorry to hear about the nerve pain that your DSIL is having. Hope that subsides soon. Have there been any more interest in your daughter's unit? Something will turn up soon.

Hi MsLomo.......hope that you are okay. I see that Dimitri will be on this weekend. Oh dear. I am going to be strong.

Hi Delaney; how is your Gram liking the USA? Hello Waja and Princess Gracie, Selah, Rowan, Bathina, Lurky, AgnesAnn, and QAnu. See you later.

Hey Snappy, it is Thursday--spaghetti day. Yahoo!!

cute, it would be really nice to find a tree that would stand up to your weather and then plant it in memory of your loved ones. I think that's a special thing to do. There's just something about them that is so strong and steady. Oh, you have a power mower. I thought you just had one of those old ones you really have to push all by yourself. Makes me feel better for you.

We sort of have the same weather today. It's starting to rain. Just a little, but we are expecting more tonight. It's in the low 60s, dark, windy. Had thought about going out to the book store, but since it wasn't necessary, I decided to stay home. Did some cleaning in my closet. Have boots I literally never wear because they don't feel stable enough for me now, but it's hard to part with them because they are truly comfortable. So I put 2 pair in the plastic container under the bed and am getting rid of 2 other pairs. While in there, I dusted. It's so hard to get down on the floor. And really difficult to get up.

Issy, I remember you from the other place. Telling us about how you sort of had your eye on a guy!!! He had his on you too. We have been through a lot, and I'm grateful for you and cute and MsLomo and all the dear ones who I hope are doing well and miss. Thank you for the words of encouragement. Glad you had your spaghetti day. Is I raining up your way? Except for the fact that DD has to come home and go back in it, I love it. Most people would be surprised at how much teachers have to do other than teach.

DD#1 is having the ceiling in her sunroom painted off white rather than the dark color it is now. I think that will make it much brighter and of more interest to a potential buyer. Someone looked last week, but clearly didn't offer to buy. Someone will come along. SIL is having nerve pain, and I truly hope it isn't the kind that lingers for years. I have a friend in that condition. Sad.

Guess what??? Okay, I'll tell you. Our gates will be installed on Saturday morning!! We are thrilled. AND all the new porch lights have arrived, just ready for the painters to do their thing. No word from them yet, but they said they had jobs to finish first, and that makes sense to us.

Greetings to one and all,

snappy {#emotions_dlg.tt1}
