cute, nice to see you. DD emailed the painter yesterday and he said they might be here in 2 weeks or so. She said sooner was better than later. He was supposed to send someone to look at our gates and give us some options for new ones, but now he told her that they will do it all at once. I think they are all spread too thin, or they all have ADD. They run from one job to another. Maybe they need someone to keep them organized.

If your hubby doesn't get tired of mowing, perhaps the 2 of you could take turns....just a thought.

Yesterday DS said they had a lot of smoke there, but people were allowed back into their homes. Fires are such dangerous things and everything here is so dry.

DD#2 stubbed her toe this morning and it's swollen, purple and hurts so she's going to urgent care after school. I'm thinking it must be broken. It's her right foot which might make driving harder. She's going to leave lesson plans in case she can't be there tomorrow.

Enjoy your day. Hi to Issy, bath, MsLomo and all.

Hey Snappy lady; did we miss the official date of your birthday??? Let us know. So sorry to hear that the contractor is dragging his feet. That is so frustrating. I am also sorry to hear about your DD#2 stubbing her toe. Hope that it isn't broken. I was just talking to my brother last week about going barefoot in the house. I told him that I don't go barefoot in the house because I am always stubbing my toe on the furniture, etc. That is soooo painful. Joan called me Saturday; she said that she hasn't seen me lately and was just checking up on me. Everything is okay at her house, and the dog is making sure that nobody comes near me when I am outside--love that dog.

My friend who hosted the bridal tea is from a rich family, and all of her friends seem to be well heeled. She would give my SIL a run for her money. I think that she missed her calling; she reminds me of a mini-Martha Stewart.

Hi Mrs. Cute; that is so funny about your DH mowing the lawn. Let's hope that he gets tired of doing it after a while, or maybe you could take turns. Did you go to the resale shop?

Hi MsLomo; hope that you are okay. Hi to all of the wonderful ladies of the Q.

Hi Issy, no my birthday is the 24th and yours is also this week, but I can't remember which day. I'll be 81. Wow. Ten days later my DS will be 61. WOW.

I don't go barefoot anywhere. It hurts my feet. And since I fell, I no longer wear slippers. I wear socks in the evening after I put on my pjs. I'm glad your neighbor and the dog keep an eye on you. It matters because we could fall and nobody would know we needed help. DD is planning on being at urgent care when they open at 5 so I hope she gets right in. She could go to ER, but it costs WAY more, and she would no doubt have to wait for people with much more serious issues. It sounds to me as if the toe is broken, but maybe not.

I'm not surprised that the hostess has wealth since nobody can entertain like that without it, but it's nice that she shares with others. And she sounds kind.

Good to see you,

cute, I'm so sorry one of your long time friends has died. Since she chose to not tell you in advance, it makes it harder. It's more of a shock than if you know someone is ill. She just wanted to keep on working and not be pitied, I guess. There are probably lots of people feeling that loss, and I'm sorry.

Glad you found some clothing. We always see to see something even if we don't wear all we already have. I do give things to charity, but I look at a top I've never worn and think that one day I will and then I never do.

DD stayed home today. They didn't even need to xray. The doc said he's seen so many broken toes, he knew that's what she had. They taped it to the toe next to it and she has to keep it that way for 3 weeks. She is home today, trying to keep it elevated and rest. She's also stuffy and coughing a bit. I guess she will figure out a way to work tomorrow. Normally she could wear flip flops, but it's cool and we are expecting rain. Her first broken bone.

Hi Cute; thanks for stopping by. I am really very sorry to hear about your friend that had the resale shop. Try not to beat yourself up over the fact that you didn't know what her circumstances were. Maybe you can convey your feelings to her family in some way.

Hi Snappy; thanks for being here today. Your birthday is the 24th and mine is the 27th. Joan came across the street as I was getting out of the car last night to ask me if she had missed my birthday. I told her "no". She was so relieved. Her birthday is on May 9th. I haven't decided what her gift will be yet. Maybe a beautiful lounging outfit?

Snappy, I am so sorry to hear that DD#2 has a broken toe. I was afraid of that--so painful. Hope that she won't have to suffer too badly. I have a broken toe story...........it was "the case of the frozen turkey". Imagine this. The day before Thanksgiving, my mother and I were preparing all of the food. She went to the freezer to get the turkey, the bottom of the brown paper bag gave way......and the big frozen bird fell on her foot and broke her toe. I felt so bad for her. Needless to say, we ended up having ham for Thanksgiving dinner.

Hi MsLomo.......hope that you and your DH are doing well. Stop by; we miss you. Hello to all of the wonderful ladies of the Q.

Hi Issy. Thanks for the reminder that your birthday is the 27th. Dusty's was this month also, GS's is the 30th. DD couldn't wear her shoe to work today, so she wore fun socks in her slippers. The kids loved it, and are treating her with respect (so far). She's planning a "slipper day" for them. Your poor mom! Turkey's are heavy even when not frozen. A memorable holiday for sure. You are so generous with your neighbor. She would love an outfit like you described. I see that Carol Hochman has a TSV on the 30th. Don't know what it will be, but I could use another hot weather set.

cute, thank you for the Birthday greetings! You are so kind. WOW....girl, you hit the jackpot with HSN! Wonder what else is in that box? It was worth the wait.

Got out to shop earlier, and thought it might rain, but now the sun is out more. Praying we get some. DD#1 and her hubby are prepping their place for exterior painting to begin tomorrow. They have a good sized sun room that will be included. They use it for storage of things that we would usually put in a garage, but they only have a car port. There's nothing like deadlines to get us moving. They are shredding things and making better order there.

Take care..Hi MsLomo and all.

Hi Cute; good to see you here. Yes, you really did hit the jackpot!!! You always radiate such joy and happiness. No wonder so many good things come back at you. Glad to see that your family in Texas is okay.

Hello Snappy. Leave it to your DD to figure out a fun "slipper day" for the kids. She truly is a treasure to you and the children that she teaches. Does she have a cane or crutches? Hope that she heals fast. I am going to go shopping for my neighbor, Joan. I have decided on the lounging outfit for sure. I think that she will like that.

Hi MsLomo; we miss you. Hope that you and your DH are okay. Hello Waja and Gracie, Lurky, Bathina, Selah and Rowan, Delaney, and all of the wonderful ladies of the Q.
