Medium size is my preference as well. I have seen and purchased medium sizes over the years and they can still be found. A heavy bag hurts my shoulders and back. A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a Travelon to take on vacation. Perfect. Very light weight, well organized, and can go shoulder or cross-body.
That's what I like...convertible bags. Also single straps. I have narrow shoulders and doubles always fall down.
I prefer single straps, too. I really have trouble with double rolled straps.
Yes, me too! As it is, my bag is always sliding off my shoulder.. crossbody is my favorite. I really like Kipling bags...Also Vera Bradley. I also have some Tignanello. Can't do big leather bags.

Vera Bradley makes a good quality nylon bag, solid color. I have a couple and love them. I don't like shopping with a heavy bag, but I carry them for going out.
I like several of Vera's prints and love it that they're not a burden to carry

Noel, you can also.find Kipling bags at Macy's. I like the Alvar crossbody. Lots of colors. Great organization.
Each bag comes with a monkey key ring. ...Monkey...from Kipling' s Jungle Book.
Each monkey is the color of the bag, and has a name, after employees who work for the company.
You can take it off, but I leave mine on the bag. It's a great conversation starter..people like the monkeys..Lol...and I use mine like a worry doll.

I just saw a new one that I think is cute. The Glenna... not a print, it comes in black, blue and magenta. About 14" x 11. The details show up best if you look at the blue or magenta.

Yes, that's cute! I'd probably get the magenta. But I would have to deal with the double straps.

I can handle double straps if they're not heavy or round, but you're right, not perfect
I don't know what it is, for sure I don't have sloping shoulders.
