I don't know if this qualifies, but I'd really love to see as many historic, and beautiful, and sacred places in the United States as I could.   Maybe that sounds boring to some, but I've done a small amount of traveling to other countries, and I think I'd rather spend my time seeing and learning more about what we have in this lovely country.

I feel exactly the same! A dream of mine would be to visit Hawaii.Heart

I read about this fantasy golf vacation a couple of years ago. For a ridiculous amount of money, you get to go to the eight most diverse golf locations in the world. The courses at the highest and lowest altitudes, hottest and coldest, most southern and northern, the most difficult and the oldest (St. Andrews in Scotland). Price includes the private jet to each location and accommodations. A girl can dream.

My dad would have loved that!

I feel like an unsophisticated bore after reading the other posts.  I don't like to travel, don't like to fly, and have never left the United States.  I don't even care if I never travel beyond these borders.  I'm a news junkie and so that is my frontier, I guess.  If I had to choose someplace, it would be New York City at Christmastime or maybe Key West in the dead of winter.  I used to go to New York a lot years ago.  It is a great place.

I want to stay in an oceanfront cottage right on the beach - Sunset Key Cottages, Key West - minimum 2 weeks!

I want to open my front door in the morning and find a glorious breakfast and hot, fresh coffee every day.

Heaven...

@Ms X, you are NOT an unsophisticated bore just because you don't want to travel. My fantasy golf vacation will never happen, it is a fantasy. In my real life, I am a nester, not a traveler, have never had the bug. The traveling I have done was at the insistence of my DH, and I'm glad for those experiences. I'm just done with it now. I do think it would be fun to load up a luxury motor home and visit every national park in America. If somebody else did the driving, lol!

I'd like to take two vacations a year.  In winter off to Hawaii and in the summer to Alaska, at least two weeks for each trip.

My DH is retired from the US military so we have done a lot of traveling and I like to be home but these trips would be great.

My only dream trip is Italy. I will never get there now, should have gone when i was younger. My backs too bad to wait in airports and travel. My advice to others, go while you can, dont be like me and have regrets later.

NYC is a great place to be and Xmastime is a treat, @MS X

Have you ever been to the Newseum ? I'll bet you'd love it.

I' d love to visit Key West too. Maybe we'll meet there one day. I'll be wearing a black tank, white shorts and drinking a rum with a few lime slices. ; )

Most certainly I will be in the minority here. I do NOT like to travel. I must travel for my dh's sake and to see my children (in other states), but if left to my own devices I would stay in my home which I enjoy very much and putter in the yard.

I have done my dream vacation that I wanted to for years. I have had the opportunity to travel a lot but I always wanted ot go to Pripyat, Ukraine on an extreme sightseeing tour. You wear a geiger counter and get to walk around this town near Chernobyl where it eerily stands just as they left it. It was the most exciting trip I had ever been on. I also want to go on an cruise to the Antartcic to visit around there and see the old whaling stations. Not many people in the world can say they have stepped on ice there. Thankfully my husband is also the type of person who likes this kind of adventure because I don't have a lot of other traveling partners who would. Don't get me wrong,

Actually, Antartica is a popular destination spot.  It is on my bucket list.  Tauck offers a cruise there and I have spoken to fellow travelers who have gone and loved it.  Apparently, by cruise, the seas are rough so when I was on a recent trip to NZ, I was told they have regular flights.
