My dr wanted to put me on effexor for menopause symptoms, mainly sweating. I looked into it, even wrote this board for advice. I decided against it. A year later she again told me it could help my excessive sweating, so I gave in and went on it. After some time on it, I realized it wasnt doing what I went on it for, so I asked to be taken off. She informed me that I would have to reduce the dosage not go off at once. I knew this from my research so that is what I did. I went from 75 to .37.5. I am feeling so strange and weird. I don't want to go back on to get rid of this feeling, but it sure is tempting. This is why I didn't want to go on this drug in the first place! I have read that you need to go down in the dosage in smaller increments but this is not possible in my case because mine is a capsule that cant be split in half. I will be seeing my dr soon, because I know thats what alot of people are going to tell me to do, but I am just wanting to hear some of your experiences with this. thanks
