He's lucky to get much less than the maximum sentence sought by federal prosecutors. 

And never, ever invest in something you don't understand completely,  regardless of what your broker/accountant/financial advisor/banker  tells you.

His lawyers are planning an appeal.

I did not follow this case closely but there were other CEOs involved. Is Bankman the only one convicted?

What about restitution? Would donated money

have to be returned? What about items purchased with his continual gains?

I am not knowledgeable about crypto currency enough other than knowing many people lost tremendous amounts of money 

I do feel 25 years is adequate, however.
