I just look for the best deal over on Amazon and buy $25 for free shipping and it shows up at my door no problem.

@silkyk, are you a Prime member? I ask because if it's sold by Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon, you would get free shipping.

The price of toilet paper has indeed gone up for me from the places that I buy.  I like Charmin and Amazon offers a better price than my local shops in Manhattan NYC, as long as Amazon is the seller and not a third party.  Haven't tried Costco or Wegman's.  I have no car and they are too far from me to haul any real shopping.

Personally, I think Costco's TP is the best quality and deal at 30 rolls for $16.99

I like their paper towels too.  Back in March when it was so difficult to find any kind of tp, paper towels or Kleenex, I managed to get some at Costco.   I decided a few weeks ago that I didn't want to be stuck like that if a similar situation happens again, so I went back to stock up.

In order to meet the demand, manufacturers are having employees work round the clock shifts, which costs overtime pay.  They are probably incurring costs to keep the manufacturing floor safe, if not also paying hazard pay to get employees to come to work.

You know these costs are being passed on.  The manufacturer is not absorbing these costs.

Not to mention the cost of raw materials probably went up due to demand.

You also need to check the SIZE of the rolls.  Some of the larger packages contain rolls that are smaller than the rolls in smaller packages.

If you took the price of some of those super large packages and averaged out the cost per roll by size. you  would find that some are actually more expensive than costing out the size of the smaller packages.

I'm sure not everyone comes across this issue-I'm just speaking from my own experience.

Cottonelle has been extremely hard to find locally, so I order from Wal-Mart when I see it's in stock.  Package sizes vary, and the price is up, but we are not happy with any other brand.

We get a pack of 30 from Amazon for $19.99.  After the shortages last winter, we've been stocking up on toilet paper and paper towels.
