@2blonde. @goldensrbest. This is a good question. The possibility of a device is moot without wifi which is probably going to cost, making any savings on purchases negligible.

I would suggest a Chromebook too. I bought mine at Costco, very reasonably priced. It's super easy to use.

No they would have to get it.

Definitely a Chromebook. The don't get viruses, no frozen screens, none that "stuff" that you get with laptops. They are as user friendly as a tablet but Chromebooks are computers.

Why bother?
She's going to spend $1000 plus monthly WiFi to save a few $$$ on some underwear?
Online shopping is not for everyone.

@goldensrbest you could order underwear and other clothes for your mom and have them shipped to her.

This is an over priced product. It will waste money. I would suggest a regular iPad.

That would make such a profound difference for them! Over the course of time for many needs and wants the amount they could save would be huge.
My husband pretty much doesn't shop online and some of the things he buys he could have gotten so much cheaper online. He does do the internet, email, and such, but just doesn't do shopping or shopping research and just buys whatever for however much a given BM store is asking.
If you think about it, it is a catch twenty two. Sure, we can order on line perhaps for less but the shipping cost eats away a lot and sometimes all of the savings.
