I personally have a wee little crush on Jim Cantore, and he has been out in the strong winds all day.

He has been getting battered by the winds, and I bet that (A) he is going to sleep well tonight once the adrenaline wears off, and from fighting the very strong winds, and (B) he is going to be sore tomorrow!

I'm not watching CNN either.

Watching the Weather Channel and you can barely hear what some of them are saying.

One had to keep bending over to center his body gravity as the winds pummeled him.

I realize as meteorogists they must look at this with a different perspective but geeze Louise already.

OMG, don't tell me that Louise is the next one to hit Fla.!    lol

I have been watching either CNN or the Weather Channel for those most part.

Chris has provided some comical moments today.  When they first started into the northern part of the eye wall, the look Chris gave the camera when Chad Meyers told him the worst was yet to come was really comical.  Can't say I blamed him though.  Woman LOL

Mike Sidell was getting pounded this morning in Miami.  And Jim Cantore is taking some serious wind in Ft. Meyers.

@Plaid Pants2- I've seen him in person a few times. Several years ago both times. Once standing in line at Dunkin Donuts near my house with his kids and I sat next to him on an airport shuttle once. He's very nice looking.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I think Mike Bettes from The Weather Channel was the worst. He was in the eye wall while reporting from Naples, FL. He was being battered and tossed by the wind and rain and kept staying outside for more. I couldn't watch it anymore and changed the channel. Wouldn't you know it but MSNBC was showing the same Weather Channel torture. I appreciate the coverage but at some point information becomes sensationalism and too much risk for meteorologist-reporters.

Just doing a quick internet search, Jim is 53 snd has ( an adult) son and daughter, and he was divorced ten years ago.

He has been in a relationship with Andrea Butera, who works for CNN, since 2010, and she is 35.

You go, Jim!

It seems to me ,Irma, isn't as bad as the one that hit texas, but i don't know.

Two totally different types of storms. You really can't compare them. Texas was mostly rain and fairly confined.

Irma covers a vastly bigger area and has high winds along with storm surge. It's not even over yet and it's been going on for hours.

I mainly watch FOX cable and they've had people out there all day long!

I agree it's crazy!  I don't know if any of you know or have heard of Adam Housley?  He's a reporter on Fox News.  He's married to Tamera Mowery (The Real) on TV.  She has a twin sister (Tia).  They've both been on TV and in the movies.

Anyway, he's been out there all day long.  He's been on The Florida Keys and everything.  Most of the time you can hardly see him and can't hear him.  He's been in Houston and sent everywhere!

I keep thinking, "I'll bet his wife is ready to kill him.  This is sooooo dangerous".  Ha!
