@GSPgirl- isn't that nice....cheering for someone who's working his butt off to lose his job. Such a kind thought.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Networks report from war zones -- they are used to being in dangerous situations and know when to get out.  If you've listened to their reporting they have said that they've moved locations to be in a safer spot, or they get out of an area when the camera goes to another reporter.

It's their job to report the news and they are also trying to report to people in the path of Irma so they have updated info as well.

@sueinsf  This is true but I think the theme of this thread are those out there in the midst of the worst of the storm.

It is necessary to keep people updated but it is difficult to watch them trying to hang onto their hoods and doubled over to center themselves as the winds pummel at them.  Plus some of them are barely audible at times.

Those certainly can't be the safer areas.  It is difficult to watch for sure.

Very uncomfortable to watch and listen to, @Cakers3.    I wouldn't want to be in their shoes, or to be in the role of deciding who is going to be out there in the dangerous elements.sad face  I hope they do this with at least some counsel from the emergency management authorities and rescue agencies.

@dooBdoo  I would imagine there has to be someone to instruct them.  However,  since many of these are meteorogists their perspective must be very different.

This is their chosen careers; I would guess, just a guess, that being out there is something they consider just part of the job-not to mention being part of a historical storm.

They do not look at this the way we do, for sure!!Woman Surprised

I love chris.

@goldensrbest, I like him, too.   When Alison Parker and  Adam Ward were murdered in Roanoke, VA, he was one of the people who went there -- I have friends there who said he was kind, respectful, and especially helpful (at the time and later) to the grieving families, friends and co-workers and was very unassuming and not at all the commonly-held, presumed stereotype of the "celebrity."   Rest in peace, Alison and Adam.❤️

All the channels are hyping this story.  Yesterday the reporters stood in the streets with nothing spectacular going on hyping, hyping, hyping.  I haven't watched it today.  The wall-to-wall coverage everywhere is just too much.
