Every once in awhile I'll stop in at a Salvation Army store close to my house.  Last time I found a pair of Isaac M.'s 24/7 crop pants. Black, almost new,my size! $5. Love them.  But mostly it's a lot of looking and seeing nothing I'd buy.

I shop thrift and consignment shops and yard sales, too.  As I sit here now, I'm wearing capris I found at a consignment shop.

At the shop where I often consigned, they did not accept QVC in misses sizes although they did take most of the 1X I used to wear.  They always sold those.  What didn't sell were the few items I'd bought at Kohl's and several of those still had their tags on them.  Best sellers -  that is for the best prices and selling before the shop reduced them -  always came from Chico's.  They had one large circular rack that was all Chico's all the time.

I saw a Temp-tations Texas size Muffin pan at the salvation army a few weeks ago. It was priced $14.99. It was brand new. It was in the styrofoam but missing the box. I thought it was over priced for a thrift shop. I was going to check back and see if it was still there when that color price tag went half off. But, then I thought even at $7.50 do I really want something that has a reputation for breaking and sometimes while it is in the oven.

@MoJoV  I just donated three pair of those Isaac pants yesterday.  One had been worn twice and washed, 2 were new.

My sister always finds great deals. Whenever she’s invited to a fancy wedding she always finds her dresses at thrift stores. I would buy my son’s western show shirts at thrift stores too. Very nice prices of $3 to $5

I love the thrift stores.

Now that I'm retired I need a few more casual things to wear around the house & maybe a trip to the grocery store.

I've had good luck with Denim & Co and Old Navy.

Old Navy usually holds up well.

I also look through the men's clothing.

When I needed long sleeve white oxford shirts for a part time job, I bought them in the men's dept at the thrift store.

I don't wear coats anymore but the men's racks have the best sweaters and light jackets.

Most of the clothing is marked 99cents and they have % off days.   Shows you they have more than enough donations.

But like another poster mentioned, their other items are sometimes overpriced.

A couple of months ago I purchased a beautiful mirror with a beveled edge for my bedroom for $16.  It's about 18x24 in a beautiful frame.   I also paint  over ugly furniture if it needs it.

We have some really nice Goodwill Stores in our area... Love to check them out.  Where my daugher lives near Roanoke Va there seems to be one on every corner.  Poor girl when I visit she ends up taking me to Goodwill.

A large, very nice Goodwill store opened near us and I found an Ethan Allen queen bed for $20.  Didn't need it, but bought it.  I do plan to get a queen mattress & box spring and use it in our guest room.

Love shopping thrift stores.  In the late 80's, I found a Chanel quilted purse for $25.  I had it authenticated and my DD is now the proud owner.

Another time I found a beautiful, long length (petite!) cashmere swing coat in camel for $20.00.  No moth holes and in mint condition.  Unfortunately, I did not have a cedar closet or think to buy a cedar garment bag and it eventually got eatten by moths.

See a lot of Quacker & Denim & Co. clothes at thrift stores.
