Does anyone know of Charities

That take large pieces of furniture.  All the places on line specify small furniture pieces.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Jamma

We donated a very large desk to Goodwill.  They picked it up at home.

Thanks I tried them ---they won't be in my area till mid September.  I was hoping it could be sooner.

We've had this exact experience with them and the other main ones.  Nobody would pick up.  We were giving away nice furniture, too.

It's a shame because, often, you end up just throwing it away when somebody could use it.  It's not easy to throw away a sectional!  Fortunately, we did end up finding a home for one large piece and they were thrilled to get it.

@Jamma  Is there a program in your area for transitioning homeless families?  The one in my area is always looking for furniture and will pick up the large pieces.

I'd try Habitat for humanity. They furnish or semi furnish those homes they build. IDK if they take upholstered furniture though.

If you want sooner, try the Red Cross.

Pickups must be regional thing.  Salvation Army as well as the Red Cross in my area will pick up large furniture in Mayflower size tractor trailers as they go from home to home in one delivery/pickup in the area.

In the last few years, Goodwill as been very picky.  I stopped using them yrs ago.  I don't even bother w/their "drop off" parking lot bins any longer.

Habitat for Humanity picks up large furniture promptly in my area, the store is always busy so donations are always needed & appreciated.
