Re: anyone have Columbus Day off?

Where I worked over 20 years ago in government lab connected to MIT we had Columbus Day and also New Years, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Patriots day (In Ma it is a holiday -- when they run the marathon), Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Guess we were lucky -- would go buggy with no holidays between New Years and Memorial Day. Most years we also had an extra day either at Christmas or July 4th depending on which was near the weekend.

When I worked for state government we always had Columbus Day as a holiday. I am now retired so I always take the day off. Smiley Happy

In a certain City or State, it is no longer called "Columbus Day". It has been changed to "Indigenous People's Day".

And here in the capital city of my state a Junior High School is no longer calling children "Girls/Boys". The new term is Purple Penguin, figure that one out for me will ya?

What's next?

Yes, I have every day off as far as being employed.

Re: anyone have Columbus Day off?

In my line of work we are always on call/duty for the holidays...but I took a four day weekend this weekend...weather is nice..and I had furniture coming..

Overstock - never ordered huge things - kitchen set..chair..bed..mattess set before and gotta say..I loved it..ordered online..fantastic price..delivered to front door two days later..excellent quality. It is all good.

Was a bit hesitant on ordering a mattress/bed without testing it..but we lucked out..Had memory foam 4 inch topper for years..went with 14 inch memory foam..ahhhhhh love it even more.

That's simply not true. You need to get the facts.
