I've always saved my lone earrings hoping someday, a mate would reappear. It happened maybe once. I did sell all the singletons to USGB, so at least it wasn't a complete loss.

I'm still mourning the loss of one favorite 2 tone 14k double oval hoop earring. I had them only a few months. It was years ago. I know it didn't fall out of my ear. I stupidly had one off at work and I know it was swiped.

I am like Issiestrom above. For a couple of years now, I purposely wear two different earrings. I could not decide between two pair and decided...heck I'm going to wear both. I have been doing that ever since. It is a great conversation starter and fun to do. I have people who look forward to seeing what two earrings I am wearing.

Have you tried Ebay? I lost one earring of a pair that I loved, luckily they were a specific brand and I just kept on searching until I found that exact pair offered at a good price. It's worth a try if you have something about them that will let create a search for them.

I also have a pair of earrings that I have lost one of twice! They were a gift from my sister and I swear God wants me to have them b/c the missing earring has miraculously turned up both times, one time in the car and the other time in a hotel parking lot in a spot I would not have seen if I hadn't decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator. I hadn't even been in the parking lot that morning, don't know how it got there, but there itwas on the ground as I walked to my car.

Have you searched your car? It could be under the seats or between them or by the seatbelt.

Hope you find it - good luck!

I've looked everywhere. Thanks all for posting. I still have the other one and since it's large with a 6 beaded dangles I'm going to get creative and attach them to another pair. Won't be the same and I'm still disappointed.

I had one gold earring go down the tub drain....a long time ago...I live in an apartment..I didn't think they would want to take the plumbing apart for that tiny earring...though I loved them..thankful it wasn't one of my diamond earrings...
