@AngelPuppy1

I know the song too but not who sings it!

put your hand  in the hand that calms the sea ......take a look at yourself and you can look at others differently....

Donny Hathaway sings the song.

Donny did a cover of the song, but the hit was performed by a one hit wonder group called Ocean. Anne Murray (remember her) also did a version of it.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land

Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now.

Starry Starry Night.

@shoekitty I had forgotten about that song ,  I love it.  Words are so sad 😞

bye bye American Pie -  one  of his other great songs .

Greeting cards have all been sent
The Christmas rush is through
But I still have one wish to make
A special one for you
Merry Christmas, darling
We're apart, that's true
But I can dream and in my dreams
I'm Christmasing with you
Holidays are joyful
There's always something new
But every day is a holiday
When I'm near to you
The lights on my tree
I wish you could see
I wish it every day
The logs on the fire
Fill me with desire
To see you and to say
That I wish you merry Christmas

I'll walk in the rain by your side
I'll cling to the warmth of your tiny hand
I'll do anything to help you understand
And I'll love you more than anybody can
