Thank you @SandySparklesSmiley Happy

I think this is one of my favorite threads of yours because to me I have loved every single post here.  It is fascinating to read people's experiences with their jobs and careers. I wish I could keep hearing about so many of them and ask questions and listen all day long.

And then to see that some of us shared the same passions. I never would have known!Heart

And I loved flowers and arranging too but was harder than I would have ever expected.

@on the bay Welcome back!🥰  Awwwww! Reading your sweet post warmed my heart because I concur about EVERYTHING you said!💝 I am thoroughly enjoying reading of the AMAZING, unique careers and not so amazing! It somehow makes everyone more relatable!😊

Yes, floral arrangements can be much more difficult than people realize; depending on the complexity and special orders. I was young and went on to do much bigger and better things, but that was my FAVORITE❤ because I got to indulge my passion of working with flowers and creating BEAUTIFUL things! Seeing the many smiles and ooohhs and aahhhhs was rewarding!😁

THANK you SO much for revisiting and caring to share another WONDERFUL post!🤗

Re: Your FAVORITE Or WORST Job And Why?

I didn't have a lot of jobs  because I tended to hold my jobs, but  I have to say my favorite was my entire adult career as a  certified dental assistant.  That's how I met my DH ( a dentist) very early on in the field.  Been married to him  for a long time, best decision I ever made.  Besides meeting my soul mate I enjoyed taking care of my patients.

My last job was my worst job. I worked for an insurance company (remember back to 2008 and the one that almost brought down the country). Anyway, every minute of every day had to be accounted for on a spreadsheet. And it had to come to 450 minutes a day.  We had to track how many times a day we went to the bathroom, how many of an item we touched and how long it took to process each one, who we talked to and for how long.  We had to send the boss an email when we left and came in every day and it could not be a minute late or early or we would have to make up the time. Everything was charted. No raises or bonuses either. And the drama was off the charts. Everyone had some kind of issue. Got laid off and it was the happiest day of my life.

My favorite was a telecom company. We were treated as adults, lots of nice people who I didn't mind seeing socially. We knew our jobs and did them without management looking over our shoulder. Unfortunately the jobs were outsourced. It was just a nice place to work with great people who treated each other with respect. In fact, most of management got laid off and we were on our own to do the job. No backstabbing, drama, gossip.

@Meowingkitty Welcome!🥰  WOW!😮 Your first job does NOT sound like a place I would EVER want to work!😐 The only POSITIVE takeaway would be that you gained valuable skills and time management which is SO important in any job!

THANKFULLY, you enjoyed working at your second job and have lasting pleasant memories to share because of it!❤

THANK you SO much for caring to share your job experiences today!🤗

Re: Your FAVORITE Or WORST Job And Why?

The best job I had was working in accounting for an airline.  Write your own ticket, go to the airport and get on the flight if there was a vacant seat. Worked there for about fifteen or twenty years until they went out of business.

The job I liked the least was waitressing at a diner in my senior year of high school.

I really appreciate waitresses because of that job!!

One Sunday I took orders from a group of 12 that had just come from church.
Maybe why they left me a tip. 😂

They all decided they would have the same as the first person that placed their order.

Cool 12 orders all the same!! 🤗🤗🤗

When I brought the orders to the kitchen and was getting their coffee, the cook questioned the orders.

I said, Yep they all want the same thing!

When I brought out their breakfasts…one by one they said this isn’t rye toast??

I said, I thought you wanted dry toast.
We don’t have rye bread. 🥴

OH BOY My bad!!! 😂

@RescueLover Welcome!🥰  😂😂😂😂 They might have thought-poor waitress, must have a hearing problem!😂😂😂

THANK you SO much for caring to share this hilarious post! It opened up a serious case of the giggles!🤗😂

Re: Your FAVORITE Or WORST Job And Why?

This one I almost quit. One year the only summer job I could get in my small town, was in it's local sewing factory. I couldn't sew, but that didn't seem to be an issue LOL.  No one showed me how to use the power machine, I was screamed at by the union rep for not going on break, the goons handing out the piecework bundles called me a @#$& schoolgirl. The final straw was when I cut my hand open with the ripper . I'm stubborn, but they broke me, Imean I was 16. I told the forelady that I quit, but they must have been desperate for bodies, because she put me on packing ( because I was such a good worker) LOL. Anyway for the rest of that summer I packed lingerie in a hot ,miserable , factory . I had nowhere to go but up.

Re: Your FAVORITE Or WORST Job And Why?

My favorite job was being a Hospice nurse. The hands that I held, the smiles I received will be in my heart
forever. I learned so much, from many who were wise. It made me look at people through different eyes. I learned about true courage, strength and gratitude.

So good you finally had a job you loved!
