@Hopein24 wrote:Parents must regain control of their own households. They need to stop being caught up in themselves, their tattoos, their cell phones etc. Too many single parent homes where the one and only parent that is present, has to work, so no one at home to guide, love, supervise the kids. Cell phones must be forfeited upon arrival at school and then collected at the end of the school day. If there is a need for the child to be contacted, a Staff member can come and pull the child from class to give them the message. School uniforms should be required at every school to close the income gap and the mentality that someone is better than you due to their clothes. Teachers must be trained in self defense to a useful degree and should be required to carry pepper spray. ( Have you seen the videos where the Teachers are getting beaten beyond recognition by Students?) Whether single or both parents, dinner time needs to be spent at the table, together with no cell phones or devices for that time. Curfews and rules to teach responsibility. Assigned chores with an allowance attached to completion. Limit device time, including video games and parents must monitor what the kids are watching and what video games they are playing. Mom and/or Dad need to know all passwords for kids. Sounds harsh, but necessary! I have little faith that these things will ever happen, the adults are too busy wrapped up in themselves for the most part and they treat the kids like they are "buddies" instead of immature, developing kids that need love, attention and guidance.
@Hopein24 Welcome! 🥰 Amen! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your thought-provoking post because it encompasses much of what I feel! You made some excellent points!👍
THANK you SO much for caring to share!🤗

What I believe the reasons the young horrible behavior is many.
The family unit with a Mom and dad are so different now. Not teaching the youth about God. One posted said they don't need our prayers, that's a huge problem. Taking God out of schools. Not caring who your child is around daily. I see around me daily since I live by a park youth acting and doing horrible things, as young as 10 no parents around.
One boy my neighbor talk to after she asked why he was at the park sitting on the bench writing graffiti. He said it was better than being home. The family unit is broken.
I'm a mom, my husband and I feel we did our best and find favor with God. We are grandparents now, everyone is thriving with much gratitude for us 🙏🏻 says a lot when your kids thank you for the way you raised them.
I do completely agree social media has affected the youth in more negative ways than positive.
Pray for our youth and their parents 🙏🏻 it's not always easy specially nowadays.
@Grand Happy Welcome!🥰 You listed some compelling reasons for the adverse actions of many of them!👍My heart bleeds for them, and I am hoping that somehow things change for the better soon!!!🙏

corrupt as they are now and it just keeps getting worse.
This is all predicted so I'm not surprised. Changes, in the weather, more sickness, more corruption, lack of morals.
It's all predicted but, thankfully, won't last forever. I have hope.
@jubilant Welcome!🥰 I concur!!! We must have HOPE!🤞 I do not want to picture a life without it!😊

Well summarized. I might add, however, that the games that are placed on media have gone too far. They depict murder, hate, combat way too graphically. The concept is treated as an everyday occurrence. Youth is being manipulated for $$$.

Those things did happen in our household. Video games weren't a problem, I didn't let her have one. There were curfews, a bedtime, there was popular music and shows she wasn't allowed to listen to or watch. Chores, community service. She wore expensive clothing lines but I a cheerleader for school uniforms. Unfortunately we were never able to make that happen.
I just learned tonight that the high school my grandchildren go to has police officers. This is in a town of 5,000 people.
@monicakm Welcome back!🥰 I was shocked when I read of police officers being in your dear grandchildren's school!😲 My jaw dropped as I thought they were only needed in schools that had a shooting or other extremely violent offenses.🫤 HOPEFULLY it will act as a deterrent!

@monicakm Welcome back!🥰 It is rather disheartening when you think about it, but is comforting to know the schools are making student and faculty safety a priority!👍 Such a thing was not even a consideration when we were young and in school! If it saves one student or faculty member from a senseless violent act, it is WORTH it!❤️
THANK you SO much for carig to share!💖
