Is it worse now than then? I think so. I don't think it is one set of people but people in general. Of course every generation has had it's good and bad. When I look at the world today, I have to admit, I have never seen things as
corrupt as they are now and it just keeps getting worse.
This is all predicted so I'm not surprised. Changes, in the weather, more sickness, more corruption, lack of morals.
It's all predicted but, thankfully, won't last forever. I have hope.

I look at this topic quite differently. Certain posters get away with saying things because they are either posters with lots of posts and popular. Others because they play the "I'm such a wonderful person" card. I tend to be a skeptical person. I have a few favorite posters that tell it like it is and I respect that. Hard to explain exactly what I'm trying to get across... Possibly that I think there are some condescending posters here and play it up big time. Sorry if I offended anyone .

Sure seems like it, doesn't it? It's happened many times here before.

It all starts at home
Yes it does (all start at home)
This is a sad reality. A discussion that I'm afraid has no viable solution in the world we live in today
It seems like each generation loses even more respect for themselves and others. Loses self control and I have to wonder how many of today's generation have even heard of the Ten Commandments! When my daughter was in HS (she graduated in 2000) I had a bumper sticker on my car. To this day I still stand by it and use it when appropriate.

We protested the Vietnam war
And spit on our soldiers when they came home
@monicakm Spitting on returning soldiers has been shown to be an historical myth. Numerous studies have been conducted with no widespread documentation of this behavior yet alone spitting occurred in the numbers that are widely believed. However, they did not return to cheers. Most people wanted to forget the trauma of this war. These soldiers were drafted and I'm sure many were against the war to begin with.

DH wasn’t literally spit on but he was verbally abused with some pretty horrific name-calling. Just what a guy with PTSD needed.😢
That's just awful. I'm sure there were some uncaring abusive people. These kids were drafted and no choice but to serve. At least the spitting was proven to be a spread myth.

I think they call young people in their 20's the "Gen Z" generation. Not true for all, but, most of them I have had any dealings with are preoccupied on their phones or just in their own little world. They are disrespectful, self centered, don't want to work, expect to get a job at the top of the totem pole even when they have no experience. They seem to think the world owes them.
Just my humble opinion.
