@SandySparkles Social Media. I've attended so many lectures, workshops and just general discussion among parents/colleagues regarding issues related to social media; many negatives have come from it.

@FiddleDeeDee Welcome!🥰 I must concur with them!😁 Social media with very few safeguards, in place at one time helped to influence negative and positive behaviors in young people! I do not use any other form of social media so I am HOPING children are shielded better these days!🤞
THANK you so much for caring to share!🤗

@BlueFinch wrote:Problems with our youth simply shows the gradual breakdown in our society. What's tolerated now, would never have been, when I was a child.
The fact is, that we all need to have boundaries, with impulse control, the young and old alike. But, this has fallen by the wayside. Now, it's almost cool, to be challenging and even threatening. There are many reasons this has been developing.
There's a real problem, when so many teachers are being harassed and even attacked now. Same thing happening to health care workers. It happened to me and I witnessed it with RN peers. Unthinkable, but true and common.
I never witnessed any disrespectful behaviors toward adults, or any authority, when I was a youngster. Not even a naughty word. We knew we would be in serious trouble. Consequences for bad behavior need to be dealt with. It's a learning situation. Now, parents often don't (defending their child), and teachers' hand's are tied.
Of course, not all young people behave badly. My hope is that those with good values can set examples for some others who are challenged and save them from themselves. But, it's not looking good.
Before I retired, I saw new RN's starting work. Unlike my time, when we had such pride in our work, these young folks often left the field in less than a year. The work was 'too demanding and HARD'. Not enough time to sit on their phones.
These young folks had no idea of the definition of WORK. Good they left. They weren't approachable, nor kind and supportive with patients. Very self involved.
When I'm in a hospital setting now, I can still ID this behavior across the room. Minimal effort exerted, until they will move on, or possibly be fired. Very few will make it a lifetime career, as my peers and I did.
And, the nursing shortage continues to grow, with foreign nurses filling in gaps. They are generally thrilled with the opportunity. Many eventually further their education becoming NP's. They're examples of a different work ethic.
I'm a psychiatric nurse and I can't say I disagree with your observations. The workplace is changing. We seem to lack a sense of decorum.

I’m sorry, but it seems like some people here just keep bamblasting you over a harmless post. They're scrutinizing every single word, searching for any reason to criticize.
You specifically said "some" young people and even gave praise to others, so I don’t understand the issue.
It feels like you're not allowed to express an opinion unless it aligns with everyone else’s. If you share a different perspective, you're immediately targeted.
And then, when others defend you, they're accused of being too sensitive or unable to handle differing opinions... talk about hypocrisy.

Edited: I know you're perfectly capable of defending yourself....I just can't help myself here. haha....cheers!
@GingerHead Good morning!🥰 Awwww! Reading your supportive posts and kindness have me smilin' ova here, and made my morning!😁 I truly appreciate and LOVE❤️ your observations and concur!💖 I feel that everyone's opinion matters as long as they are respectful of community guidelines because life is not all gum drops and lollipops, but it need not be all thorn and thistle!😁
I enjoy spirited conversations and ALWAYS wear my Forum protective gear; head to toe!😂 Seriously, I do not take any negatives to heart!😊 I would be wound up tighter than a ball of yarn if I did😂

@SandySparkles That is a great attitude when posting on the forum.
Everyone is so different you are bound to get all sorts of replies on posts. Not taking them to heart is the way to go as posters do not know you and have not a clue about your life.

@Cakers3 Thanks for confirming the offensive nature of the tittle of this thread.
You didn't really comprehend my short comment. I defined a group "bored broads" and attached the descriptor used in the tittle to it. You identify with that group, were offended and replied with your customary scold/correct/condemn.
I am the original "bored broad" on this thread but don't have a copyright on that moniker so you can be one too.

There are are more "adults" than I can count in the public eye who fail to set good examples, are rude, crude and abusive. The human brain usually doesn't reach full maturity until the age of 25. So what's the older generation's excuse for the behavior we see demonstrated by the "mature" folks acting like fools and bullies every day?

Are @SandySparkles and @JoyFilled Warrior the same person? Writing styles are similar except one is in pink and the other isn't.
