when you are in any store these days and you hear what is supposed to be music and you  don't know any of the artists playing on their PA system and you don't want to know because they are mostly screeching and wailing anyway

@CatsyCline

My grocery store is just the opposite, they play "old school" heavy metal which the younger crowd probably has absolutely no idea what the song or group is.....  I think the Store Manager who chose that music must be someone going through a mid-life crisis---LOL!!!

I knew I was old when a clerk at the grocery store asking for my phone number and I mentioned back in the day of not needing to use your area code with your phone number.  She said, "What"?  You actually did not need the area code at one time to make a call?  I said yes and we also had a time frame where buttons were not used to DIAL a telephone number.

How about when there were word exchanges instead of numbers. We were granite 4 (GE 4) The Elizabeth Taylor movie Butterfield 7, etc

you remember the time there was no zip code-

families shared 1 bathroom ( we still do)

one car families was the rule

you had to go to the movies to see a movie

there were a lot fewer channels on tv, it was free and higher quality
