@dancingwoman   I heard it was going to be a mite chilly in your area this morning.  A lot of Northern NM is without power today.  Rural areas, poles down everywhere.

Hope @SilleeMee  has her lights on.

@Kachina624  It was 9° this morning.  Actually warmer than a few days ago at 2°.  DH loves it.  Ice fishing is one of his fav things to do in the wintertime.

I hope @SilleeMee has electricity back on too..most people need it for heat.  We are lucky with the wood stove to keep us warm.  I read there are still over 10,000 still w/o electricity where she lives.  DW

@dancingwoman    Ice fishing makes me cold just thinking about it.  Does he catch much?  Trout?  My dad was a huge fly fisherman.  I still.have all of his tackle.

@Kachina624  Yes last year he did catch a fair amount of fish.  He mostly does catch and release.  All other times of the year he fly fishes.

He says he likes ice fishing because if it gets too windy sitting or standing on one side of the hole he just goes around to the other side.. He has a hut he uses on really windy or nasty days.

DH has some of his grandfathers tackle and a few pieces of my dads.

Not what I enjoy too much anymore...when that ice starts to "talk" as DH puts it I get freaked out lol...DW

@dancingwoman   My dad's childhood friend, who lived in Durango, fished in The Pine River (El Pino ?).  He wouldn't eat fish from the Animas due to arsenic pollution from the mines.  Where does your dh fish

I like to fish but not with flies and definitely not on ice.  For years my grandparents and great grandparents had cabins on Grand Mesa and we fished in a rowboat on lakes up there.  Kids had to row the boat.  We'd catch a ton of trout; even had them for breakfast.  Great memories.

@Kachina624  Another name for the Pine River is Los Pinos.. DH likes to fish at Groundhog Reservoir...Haviland..Molas and Vallecito and Lemon Reservoirs.  Most places are so low now from the drought...even one of his most favs Lake Powell is very low....we need more snow...rain...whatever we can get...DW
