I agree!  We get enough Christmas at Christmas time.  And they start everything soooo early now.  I started seeing Christmas commercials around Halloween this past year.  It's ridiculous already.

For the first time in my life I'm going away this year for Christmas.  I'm going to St. Lucia for Christmas week.  I already have my flight booked.  It will be nice to be sipping on a pina colada with my toes in the sand instead of dealing with all of the hype and craziness of gift buying, wrapping, cooking and going insanse.  No thanks.

That sounds terrific. I wish I could go too. It's just my DH and me; no family, so we don't bother to decorate. I'd rather spend the money and get away. The only shopping we do is for the needy. For us, it's just another day.

To each their own I suppose. I celebrate the reason for Christmas ....the birth of Christ. It has nothing to do with ornaments and wrapping paper in July.

For myself, July isn't a month I want to rush things and I prefer just to enjoy the summer. The commercialism of home shopping is something I have found myself disliking more and more as I age.

Why is it even on people's radar?  No one is being forced to watch.

Switch channels, turn off the tv, read, take a walk.

I don't understand why this is such a big deal for some people.  Television is not all there is to life.

It's on peoples' radar because QVC is running promos for it.  I don't watch QVC all that much and I've seen the promo several times already.

I don't know what anyone's situation is so I'm not going to comment that there is more to life than tv.  For people who are homebound, tv may be a big part of their life.  There are people who enjoy watching QVC for hours, maybe even 24/7.

I don't really enjoy celebrating Xmas in December, OTOH, I wait for Summer all year. It's definitely a "No-Go" for me in July.

I hate Christmas 🎄 in July!! I love the summer🏖🌞🍺.I want to enjoy every second of it. I don't even want to think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving!!

I will not be watching.I'll be spending my money on summertime fun!!

I love this because I'm the exact opposite.  I hate summer so I kind of wish it was in the summer and be done with it.  I love winter and it mars the winter for me.  Smiley Happy

Either way, I just don't pay it any attention.  They must sell a lot of stuff and it's probably much more popular in the over all, as this board represents a very tiny percentage of their customers.

I hate stores pushing seasons. I want to enjoy the now. I do not want to live for the future. Especially the older I get.  The present is too precious to me.

I'm pretty sure it is not against the Standards here to voice an opinion about Christmas in July.

In fact, this is the second thread about it.  I wonder why those who didn't like it on the first thread were not told to take a walk.  LOL

It isn't a show for me, either, as far as purchasing.  I've made many of my decos myself through the years and prefer natual items from outdoors.

However, those who enjoy, enjoy.  Christmas, as well as other holidays, is always pushed everywhere long before the holiday season starts.  It's not so much a big deal for me as it is folks fawning over non-USA products.

It has to be one of their biggest (if not, THE biggest) moneymaker they have.  They wouldn't have so many Christmas shows if they weren't making a killing off of it.
