I remember reading about your daughter's Lyme disease previously on these boards. I have a friend who experienced joint pain, depression, and fatigue for years until she got a diagnosis of tertiary Lyme disease that was successfully treated with antibiotics.
I realize that your daughter has not responded to the usual antibiotic treatment, so I just did a little online research and found an excellent article in the New York Times that I thought you might want to look at [if you haven't already]. Here's the link:
When Lyme Disease Lasts and Lasts - http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/07/08/when-lyme-disease-lasts-and-lasts/?_r=0
This is just one article in a list of articles that can be found on this webpage: http://www.nytimes.com/health/guides/disease/lyme-disease-chronic-persistent/overview.html
Thank you for sending the links. I read them and forwarded to my daughter, although I'm pretty sure she is aware of these facts.
Again, I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Hopefully after her appt tomorrow..(I think that is it..) she will be ready to make some decisions. I think she is probably hoping for the cure/miracle from this MD..and unfortunately I doubt it is going to be the instant sucess she is looking for.
At this point in time..the only thing she can do is treat the symptoms..depression and pain..they can both be treated successfully..even though they may be secondary to Lymes until a time comes when it is a accepted disability she can only do what she can do.
I think getting in a apt with you..if you can afford it is great..it sounds like a win/win situation no matter what..the accommodations sound luxurious..and not sure what deal she would be messing up for you now?? This could also give her some buying time to get herself together..and I don't mean that in a bad manner.
Sorry, couponqueen, I didn't see this.
I am also concerned that she may be expecting more from this doctor than she is going to get. Reviews on his website say that although he is respected as a good doctor for this disease, his "bedside manner" is not the best. My daughter said she is not concerned about this as long as he knows what he's doing, but I don't like the sound of it. However, she is seeing him tomorrow, one of her sisters is going with her (thank goodness) so she won't have to face another nasty person alone. She has had her share of nasty so-called "professionals."
The only thing I think about is losing her, which is possible. I would not survive that.

Soon after she moved in, she started hearing the same noise, about 5 nights a week, from the unit above her. It always started about midnight, and lasted till 2, even 3, in the morning. She said the only way to describe it was, "very vigorous lovemaking". My Aunt is a character, she said it was annoying, but mostly, it was just, amazing that anyone could have such a love life, night after night; she had to get a look at these people! One morning, she accidentally, on purpose ran into the woman coming downstairs. My Aunt made some comment about her looking tired. The woman said she was exhausted, and thenapologized, if she was bothering my Aunt, with the noise, she explained that she was a law student, holding down an evening job, as well as school. The only time to type her papers, Late at night. My Aunt couldnt resist telling her what she thought was going on. The woman thought it was hilarious, especially since she told my Aunt, she was Way to busy to even think about a casual date, never mind nights of wild Love!
The hammering has been going on for two hours now, and it's definitely not typing. So while I appreciate your funny story, I am exhausted right now and can't find my sense of humor. My back is killing me more than ever, I guess from tension. She has been hammering on all of her walls, not just the one that backs up to my bedroom wall. This is not innocent, it's deliberate. She should have received the letter from the corporate owners today, but she is obviously ignoring it, in fact amping it up a notch. She is crazy, demented, or just plain mean, I don't know what or which. I just know I have to get out of here.

I would call the cops like you were told. It could be she is retaliating against getting the letter. You HAVE to do something. Waiting for her to be evicted, if and when that happens, is going to try your sanity. NO ONE should have to suffer through that.

Ford.....since you can request the police not to give her your name, I would call them. Would have done that earlier while she was hammering away. Since you are pretty sure she isn't in the construction business (lol) they will listen to you and try to get her to quit it......
I would still call them.......

Ford, bossy me is telling you to CALL THE POLICE!!!! You need to get this documented. For all you know she may be on drugs and this will go on for hours. The police can assess her and you can put pressure on management to realize you are not going to live this way.

I agree, I've read the thread and don't understand why she won't CALL THE POLICE, posters have been saying to since the thread was new. :-(

Call the police.
You shouldn't have to live like that, Ford.

well since management isn't doing anything, I'd call the police.
Makes me want to go knock on her door and ask her what the * she is hammering on.
