I really need to find a way to earn extra money for my grandchildren for the holidays....I have had a stroke and lost my left vision and they took my license, so I cannot drive to find a job.  I also live 17 miles from the largest town, and live in a rural area with NO taxi's or busses.

So, if anyone has any suggest for working from home, I would really appreciate it.  I am looking for legimate ones....

If you are good at baking pies and cakes you could bake and sell from your home. Let your friends, neighbors and even the people at church know you are doing this so they can order from you. A lot of people really appreciate home made baked goods for the holidays.

  I agree with @blackhole99.That’s an excellent idea.A few years ago a friend of a friend needed to make some extra money.She started baking cakes, pies & homemade chocolate.She ended up making quite a bit of cash.

  Now several years later she’s still doing it.A few local restaurants offer her desserts on their menus. She makes most of her money selling to individuals.

  Good wholesome ingredients. No preservatives. Low overhead. It sounds like a good idea to me!! 🎂🍰 🍫🍪

Honestly, for me personally, unless it comes from a supermarket, or some other well established company, I don't trust someone's homemade cooking.

I also wouldn't drop off my kid or dog at some stranger's home.

Established companies are not going to hire at home workers just for the holidays.

The people who work from home usually have been working for the company for years, and they have a brick and mortar establishment.

Plus, when one works from home, they usually work set hours, and work using computers.

Even if there were some legitimate work-from-home job out there, they are not going to hire on the spot.

There are background checks, training, etc.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I am just being realistic here.

If you are going to do baked goods you need to check your state requirements.  If you bake a certain amount then you may need a business license, health inspections etc etc.......

Contact large legitimate well known companies, sometimes they have their customer service representatives work from their computers from their home now.  Be careful of these fly by night fraudster companies that offer these type of jobs but they are scams.

Even when there are job openings for customer service reps, the company still has to do background checks, etc which all takes time.

There are certain requirements that have to be met, such as being proficient with certain computer programs, not to mention that there is training involved, which usually involves travel.

I know of no legitimate company that just blindly hires on the spot, without at least one face-to-face interaction with the applicant.

Oh of course, but these days a lot of companies are doing telephone interviews ....  but yes there could be an in-person interview/personnel visit to sign contracts etc etc   She may need to make a couple of trips into town to get a job.  My friend's DIL works for an insurance company, State Farm I think, from her home on a job not requiring an insurance license....She may need to find someone to drive her into town a couple of times.....

And a lot of companies do a lot of on-line training these days too.  I volunteer for a non-profit and I did the training by an on-line course, my application was done online too....................
