@Kachina624. When I went to book club last week at a different house, "words" were every where!!! Sayings stenciled on the walls, stitched on pillows, our coffee mugs said things like "Wake Me When Coffee's Ready" or "Caffeine Is My Wine", etc.

I joked with my hostess after the house tour that "I felt like I had already read next month's book" (I have no filter). Not exactly tacky, but overdone at this point and every where I look, something to read is tiring...not relaxing. Would never do it in my home.

Give me some neutral walls, neutral furniture and bright colored framed art work or wall hangings.

@Shanus  That kind of stuff is just not my style, not tacky but just too sentimental.

@SahmIam.  I don't hate them, but would prefer not to style my house that way.

I don't really care for anything kind of decoration and especially not sayings on the walls. I have to repaint my walls now, they are country white and I'm going to paint them white blush.LOL

I like it. I think the most important thing is that whatever is on the wall is meaningful to the person(s) who live there. That might be art, words, family photos, shadowboxes with favorite items, whatever.

MANY years ago, stenciling was all the rage.  I took a class and learned the proper technique.  When we built, I stenciled the corners of my living room with a scrolling vine.

Then, stenciling went wild and it was all over everything and, yes, it became rather tacky looking.   I still like mine because it is subtle and traditional looking.

After stenciling, they started with words on the wall.  Pretty soon, it was sentences, and I've even seen paragraphs!

I've been in homes like @Kachina624 where words were in every room on every thing -- even in the bathroom.

Just not my cup of tea.  But VERY popular right now.

Seems any nice home trend is beat into the ground, and then another one starts.

@blackhole 99  I've had blush walls in most of the rooms in the last three homes I've owned.  Mom liked it so well, she had hers painted the same color.  It's very subtle and at night, it looks beige.   It's very neutral.

Maybe the text is wallpaper.

One or two objects or things with text isn't that bad for me.  If it were everywhere, I'd take it all down.

Some call it graffiti for the home, others call it self expression and decoration. Tomato - Tomahto.

Personally, I like it.

I like Chanel wall quotes.

Only if I can peel it off though.
