No one knows how old she was? I don't remember, but I was thinking about the charges of pedophilia.

Pedophilia is usually for children 13 and younger. However... 15 is a minor and illegal in all states, at least at this point in time. Statutory rape, I assume the photos alone would constitute lewd acts. Surely Allen could have been tried.

There is usually a difference in the courts between statutory rape by a young person almost the same age, and by an older adult male. The stats showed several years ago that most statutory rape was by older men.

Once again, if the evidence is there, why hasn't there been an arrest and a trial? No one is defending any specific behavior. Some of us doubt that is hasn't been concocted by Farrow. When he goes to trial, then I'll have an opinion about said accusations.

It's not uncommon because of the trauma for the child.

How old was Soon Yi at the time the photos were shot? 15?

This is a snip from the Oct 2013 Vanity Fair interview with Farrow and her children:

"...According to Dylan, “There’s a lot I don’t remember, but what happened in the attic I remember. I remember what I was wearing and what I wasn’t wearing.” She tells Orth, “The things making me uncomfortable were making me think I was a bad kid, because I didn’t want to do what my elder told me to do.” The attic, she says, pushed her over the edge. “I was cracking. I had to say something. I was seven. I was doing it because I was scared. I wanted it to stop.” For all she knew, she tells Orth, “this was how fathers treated their daughters. This was normal interaction, and I was not normal for feeling uncomfortable about it.” Woody Allen’s lawyer Elkan Abramowitz says that Allen still denies the allegations of sexual abuse.

Dylan tells Orth that Allen contacted her twice by mail. The second time, during her senior year of college, a large stuffed manila envelope arrived at the school, filled with pictures of Allen with Dylan. “I should have recognized the handwriting—I didn’t. It had a fake return name: Lehman.” According to her, the accompanying letter read, “I thought you’d want some pictures of us, and I want you to know that I still think of you as my daughter, and my daughters think of you as their sister. Soon-Yi misses you.” It was signed “Your father.” Dylan wonders to Orth, “How do your daughters think of me as their sister? How does that work?” When asked about the letters, Sheila Riesel, another of Allen’s attorneys, called it a “private matter,” adding, “This is a man who loves all of his children and should be respected for that.”…"

I find Woody Allen movies mildly amusing and don't really consider myself a fan. Was he wrong to take up with Soon-Yi at that time? Yes, but apparently they did fall in love and are still in love. Was Mia wrong to keep up a relationship with Frank while married to Andre and also later in a relationship with Woody thus stating Frank might be Ronan's father? Uh, yes. There is enough blame to go around for everyone in these relationships.

With Mia's history of older men (Frank AND Andre who is now what..84?), the apple didn't fall far from the tree with Soon-Yi. Bottom line...Mia is crazy in the head. {#emotions_dlg.blink}

After all this "young" talk, why does Celine Dion always get a pass?

Didn't she meet her future husband when's he was 12? They started a relationship magically when she turned 19.....but that seems coincidental, yes?

when HE was 12? I do not get what you are saying here.

She meant when Celine was 12. It was a typo. I think you knew that....

Thanks, Mk2..typo. My bad.

But the question is still the same. Granted Celine's husband wasn't her adopted father...BUT there had to have been se3ual feelings between the two when she was of young....why does the public forget that fact?

He should have just left her alone. What a sneaky thing to do to her, disgusting.

From what I read she was 19.

Wasn't that the age of Soon-Yi when Farrow discovered the photos and confronted Allen? I never read any info on the age of Soon-Yi about when they were taken.

I thought she was younger when they were taken but that could be incorrect. Thanks Smile

Both Woody and Mia seem to agree that Soon-Yi was 19 when the affair started. However Mia has questioned what he was thinking and planning prior to that. Although the DA chose not to prosecute because he said it would be traumatic for the child, the judge in the custody case between Mia and Woody for their 3 kids said the evidence of investigators was "inconclusive".

That's pretty common with child abuse cases. It can become the child's word against that of the adult if no one saw it or it's after the fact.
