We usually don't go out if there is any snow...I stock up on groceries and fill my freezer. way before.I have a guy who plows my driveway...The only killer is my oil bills..I was paying $800-$900 every 3 and a half weeks last winter. This coming year forget it!...I'd better start stocking up now!..LOL

Anything is better than weeks of 110 plus heat and lows in the 90's.

@shoekitty wrote:@Kachina624 this is probably true. I have heard several times that California will be wet this winter. I enjoy all the seasons here. However, I do tend to whine when we have the rainy, gray weather too long.
@shoekitty. We, in NM, celebrate gray, rainy days. I can't even remember the last one. Every day it's unrelenting sunshine.
This El Nino we've had this year and into winter is supposed to be super duper but so far, for us, it's been a
bust.
Same in Arizona. The east side of the valley gets all the rain while we get squat. I would love several days of gray skies and rain.

There is a video explaining the map and how they came to these conclusions. There will be more coming.![]()

@Kachina624 @Meowingkitty I could be wrong, but I thought rainy weather, was to start this fall. That's what I heard. Then Go into next year. We were to have colder, wetter winter, spring 2027. Then a hotter summer. I'm in California, about 90 miles South of,San Francisco. End of the Santa,Clara Valley. Where I am our summers are usually in the 100's. we usually have even hotter Sept, and the heat is usually warm till end of Oct. This year our spring to June was foggy, cooler. No real rain. The hottest day we have had til now has been 98. Unusual year for us. This new prediction should start Nov, Dec.... so they say. Which is unusual for us. We usually don't get real rain, if much til January Feb. @Kachina624 if you look bottom left of map you posted, you can see Calif. is slated for rain. SoCal might get worst of it though, we will see.......

@shoekitty. The El Nino thing was supposed to start here at the beginning of the monsoon season starting the middle of June. We've had one good thunderstorm and one minor one. Nine days of 100°+ when we average two, with more predicted this coming week.

What's not to love?
Give me autumn any time!
I'm with you @Venezia CT here. I'm the total opposite of everyone here..."I'll never complain about the heat or summer", in all it's incarnations! I always say "I'd rather be complaining about the heat than the cold or snow!"
Summers are too fleeting here, and winters way too dark and dreary, and drag on for.......everrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Nope not for me.
We were looking to "escape" this winter and be "snowbirds" at least for some of it...though, looking at this map, not sure where that will be yet!!
As for fall...it never excites me like many many others, pretty as it is in CT...for exactly 2 weeks! That's it folks! Lovely and brief. Ok. But then, we move into gray, bare, ugly for too long. So to me...summer is great, fall very brief...and then, I love spring. What was that other season? 🤔hm...can't recall...must have blocked it out.
