I know it doesnt help you where you live, but our grocery store chain, HEB, even has a commercial talking about how the fish are fresh wild caught in Alaska....

I can't remember who on this board recommended Wild Alaskan Seafood Company but the reviews give it 4.8 out of 5 stars. I have been meaning to order from them after the rave reviews & the poster that had tried them & couldn't say enough good things about them.

Re: Wild Alaskan Company seafood

Thanks to all who responsded.

Going to review the options and order next week.

Probably try to get some salmon and crab legs of some kind.

Maryland has wonderful Blue Crabs, but, the crab shacks are a madhouse this time of year, and I hate picking.  My husband will sit and eat a few crabs, but doesn't like the crowds.

A local news show mentioned that good crab meat is around $45 a pound this year.  Few pickers and fewer crabs.

I'd rather have a nice piece of salmon and some crab legs prepared at home in a quiet atmosphere.

Since it would be an occasional treat, I can justify the cost.

Aldi Salmon and Steelhead are farmed in Chile and processed in US.  i no longer buy it because 3 separate purchases of their fish stunk right out of the pkg and i planned to use it the same day i purchased. they do refund and replace but this involves half hour drive back to the store, not worth the aggravation.  i avoid buying fish in the heat of summer anyway

I might be interested if you could pick just what you wanted and if it were not subscription only.

They have choices of all salmon (coho and sockeye), all white fish (halibut, cod, rockfish) or a combination of both. If you have specific requests, you can call them and they might work with you. They are very receptive to their customers.  It is a subscription but I always change the delivery date to relative to what's in my freezer. I've pushed the date as much as 4 months.

i don't eat much fish, does not agree with me. i can only eat the wild caught tuna sold only at costco. expensive yes, but excellent.

I thought all tuna was wild caught. too large to farm. We eat a lot of fresh tuna.  The canned, not so much.
