I plan to take my grandchildren and my great niece to see it.  It will be our Christmas outing.

Wicked is far, far, far from being my favorite musical, but it has quite the following. It has a beautiful score.

@rms1954, I would not hesitate for a second to take younger children to see the movie. If it follows the musical then I suspect it will be visually stunning.

The core of the story is about friendships, seeing people beyond their surface, acknowledging people for what they are not how they look, finding your purpose in life, following your own path, realizing good is different than nice. I think those are favorable themes to teach children.

My only complaint is dividing the story into two parts. I'll wait until second part is released next year and watch it all at once.

@rms1954  Wicked movie out 11/22 so will be lots of tie-ins.

I looked it up.  Watched the trailer.  Try and make money off a movie.  It's another story before the story.  It looks awful.  I would never take my younger kids to see it.

@rms1954 I saw the show many years ago.  DH had gotten tickets to surprise me for my birthday.  I found the actresses very talented and the scenery very well done.

However I'm just not a big fan of these types of musicals. I know a lot of people loved it but to me it's just a silly spin off of the Wizard of Oz which is basically a children's story....not my cup of tea as they say.

I very much prefer musicals like "Jersey Boys" or  "Beautiful" (about Carole King) which tell the story of how they came to be and filled with lots of familiar favorite tunes.

I can't imagine a "Wicked" movie!

I saw the Broadway show, really disliked it, good acting, nice costumes, pretty scenery but  music was just fair, story line very difficult to follow. I have never understood the popularity of this show. The movie will not be on my to see list.

@Shelbelle I felt exactly the same way!

I know we are in the minority here, but this was just not my cup of tea, and I am a lover of Braodway musicals, just not this one. I also didnt care for Rent when everyone else did.

I'm disappointed to see Beekman 1802 saturated with co-promotion Wicked pink and green products.

I have enjoyed their products for the appearance of simple good ingredients, and now its obvious they are using coloring additives and such for the promotional tie-in.

If they bring out any of the baby goats in pink or green costumes they are OVER for me.

I mean - is Beekman1802 NASCAR next, or Beekman 102 Doritos?

I was wondering about adding dyes, but as usual no ingredients listed on the Q product page. If they have added dyes then they are no better than Philosophy.

I went to see this years ago in Philadelphia. I don't remember any songs from the play. The costumes were beautiful. The one thing I do remember is the opening scene.  Glendia, I believe, was suppose to come down from the ceiling in a big ball and it didn't happen.   The production was stopped and could not get that big ball to work, so they just restarted with Glendia standing on the stage. It is all I remember from this play.  The crowd loved the performance, I never got it.  It was not my first show, many Broadway shows I have seen twice, I loved them so much!

I am waiting to see if my grandchildren ask to see this movie, of course, I will take them!🧙🏻‍♀️

@rms1954

I thought you were referring to the term wicked, which has been around for a long time.  It means awesome
