Just pay your bills...even if you cannot make the entire minimum payment...pay something.

I did this for 6 months. I loved running a credit report on them and skip tracing them. It was such a good challenge and a feeling of accomplishment, after that it lost its luster. I wasn't very good at being super stern so I didn't collect a lot. My very first call, I had someone pay off a $12,000 MBNA account for his daughter, after that nothing.

Each state has different laws for consumer protection.

Well, if people handle their credit properly and behave themselves they won't have to worry about it in the first place. I suppose that is their purpose in letting you know you better shape up !! {#emotions_dlg.lol}
