Hy, tell her, there's dumb people all over the place. Yes, she has a real job, maybe that customer needs a real life. Cheap shot to say the least!

You know how we have the "ignore" feature here? Well, I do that in real life. Lately, I've been doing it more and more.
My siggy is for real.

People are people...some more ignorant than others. Long ago, I was a part-time social worker and in a meeting with a client's son and DIL and they asked why I was only working part-time....answer because I also work part-time at Target as well as going to school full-time for my master's...I don't think I have any more time left in my schedule. No more questions after that!

I agree. Slobs like that don't deserve a response. The deserve a super sized drink thrown in their face, but not a good idea.
ITA... I am SO tired of people just being blatantly mean for no reason.
I agree. I can't imagine getting my jollies for "telling off" a kid who is trying their best.
Sadly it's become common to be a horse's asp.

I have slung hamburgers and I am here to tell you it is one of the hardest, dirtiest jobs I've ever had. Obviously that idiot didn't know what he was talking about.

I have never felt the need to look down at another for doing an honest days work...I hope to NEVER think myself that superior!!

And yet there's the customer snarfing down fast food. If it wasn't a "real job", there would be no fast food for the idiot customer.
A nice smile and "thank you" is all your daughter needs to do. The customers who do that think they are being clever and of course they are not.
I was in a workshop onetime with the most obnoxious attendee who made it known he had all the answers because he had a Ph.D. I asked him if that meant "Piled High & Deep? He shut up right quick for the remainder of the week-end.

Cakers~ HAHAHA! Luv it! I wouldn't be surprised if that Phd isn't out of work now!

I would probably smile and sweetly say ""when real people no longer come here to eat"".

Of course the leader of the workshop/retreat doesn't respond to people like that, but he's my mentor and during break burst out laughing with me.
Yeesh. People just don't bring up all their credentials like that in that manner. I never disclose what mine are unless asked.
I don't know why customers just assume minimum wage workers are not contributors to society - they pay taxes, too.
