An article in AARP magazine may have the answer to that.
And I quote in part " We the people over the age of 50 are 100 million strong. We will soon control more than 70 % of the disposable income in this country. We buy 2/3 of all new cars, 1/2 of all computers, and 1/3 of all the movie tickets. We spend 7BILLION a year shopping online.Travel? More than 80% of travel dollars flow from our credit cards."
So need anyone say any more? We are the ones who have the money - easy to figure out why any smart retailer would target us. We are the boomers and we are the strongest single group ever in the world - never before and never since were so many babies born in one block of time. Add to that the much smaller in number people who were born before or during WW11 and it is a staggering number.

Because that's who's watching...for the most part.

Plenty of seniors are on fixed incomes and rely on help from family members.

You're right. But I've read in other threads QVC says their demographic is those in the OP's article.

Ok - I know that some here will find fault with this article just because it was written in AARP mag - too bad they can't see the point of the article because they are too busy hating the messenger.

I don't see anybody finding fault or ""hating"" ???? Where do you see that?

I don't think that's the reason. IMO young people wouldn't be caught dead watching a home shopping channel. It isn't the way they make their purchases.

Have you not read the fashion board - they go on and on and on about QVc clothes and shoes not being stylish enough or young enough for them/.
