ITA, especially shopping channels.
IMO HSN has very different clothes, I don't think that's for the young demographic, either. Do they sell big, because their stuff definitely does not look like northern California.

The more subtle question would be "why does QVC assume that all those over 50 are only interested in "comfortable" shoes and conservative fashions?" The Boomer label is diverse and covers more than one generation. What the 70 year old desires is not necessarily what the 50 or 60 year old wants.
I think they could do a better job in researching the nuances of their core customer's age groups.
Yes!
And OMG, they need to broaden their color spectrum! It's always the same, and very rarely seasonal.
With fall and winter coming up, I'd like to see charcoal, dark gray, mushroom and browns. Maybe it's where I live, but that's the everyday work and casual colors you see here, including mixing them.
Someone ought to tell them to look at a Nordstrom catalog once in awhile.

I do, too. The prices they're facing for homes is ridiculous.
And paying your own way through college is almost impossible nowadays.

And I quote in part " We the people over the age of 50 are 100 million strong. We will soon control more than 70 % of the disposable income in this country. We buy 2/3 of all new cars, 1/2 of all computers, and 1/3 of all the movie tickets. We spend 7BILLION a year shopping online.Travel? More than 80% of travel dollars flow from our credit cards."
So need anyone say any more? We are the ones who have the money - easy to figure out why any smart retailer would target us. We are the boomers and we are the strongest single group ever in the world - never before and never since were so many babies born in one block of time. Add to that the much smaller in number people who were born before or during WW11 and it is a staggering number.
So, this means you're going to stop the constant complaining and whining about how much things cost, while bemoaning your "modest means", tight budget and fixed income?

I seem to remember reading somewhere some months ago that many in the "younger" generations (I'm an early boomer) just are not that "into" things, or interested in buying and accumulating stuff.

QVC is very well aware of what the vast majority of their customers want - what they find sells in high volume is what they bring back over and over. That is good business.

Please, not another pity party.
I agree with the article. The younger generation is saddled with college loans, home loans and car loans.
Plenty of people of all ages with the same issues.
