I think for those who still do or did in the past get off the Monday after Easter which was commonly called Easter Monday for lack of a better term.... so it made sense to say Easter Sunday...and Easter Monday.

I don't think anyone I know got Monday off, was that a Roman Catholic tradition?

We used to get the afternoon of Good Friday off, but that was years ago.

We just say Easter but I rather like the sound of Thanksgiving Thursday. I'm going to see if my family will adopt that, Thanksgiving Thursday, I like it.

Schools in many Maryland counties are usually closed on "Easter Monday", when Spring break is the week before Easter.

Our schools were always off Easter Monday. Of course it can no longer be called Easter Break. It's is now called Spring Break.

When I was in school [ELHI], Easter was always a four-day holiday weekend, starting with Good Friday and ending with the Monday after Easter Sunday. But, I don't remember calling it "Easter Monday."

No not a catholic tradition that I know if....maybe it was just a Canadian tradiiton...I remember getting 4 days off Good Friday through Easter Monday.
