Re: Why Do People Smoke Anyway?

I think the numbers support that we're doing a better job of educating smokers about their choices. It was very helpful to me to see what was available to help me quit. Each person has their own journey to take, choices to make. And that applies to many things in life of course. We humans have never been very good at making all the right choices in life. It's just how it is. We keep fighting the fight and educating in the most compassionate, understanding and factual way we can...because that's how we have the most success. I can just picture smokers reading this thread shaking their heads and stepping outside for a smoke. I realize this is a passionate subject for many who have lost loved ones, as have I. But I find encouragement and helping someone who may be considering quitting with the choices available to be more constructive in general. We can't solve the problems of the world, but we can make a difference in our own communities.

Take your own advice, Jules.

Oh, and BTW, look who's making things all about herself...the person who repeatedly posts back yet insists that she doesn't care.

"Obsess." {#emotions_dlg.lol} Project much?

Someone has to give you the attention you crave. If you didn't want a response or attention, why would you keep taunting? I don't project anything, you're an easy read. Total textbook. Does it make you feel better going to bed tonight knowing you've insulted and belittled other people? Whatever works for you.

You actually typed that with a straight face. {#emotions_dlg.lol}{#emotions_dlg.lol} YOU REALLY NEED TO BUY A MIRROR BLO000000WWWWWWHARD.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

If I'm such an easy read, I can't help but wonder why you have such trouble giving a cogent argument in response to any of the debate points I make...your arguments consist of "it's always about you," "continue with your rant", blah, blah, blah. Why not make a legitimate argument once in awhile that contains factual information instead of repeating the same reheated responses every time?

I'm sorry, what were your debate points? I have no trouble addressing any compelling (cogent) argument, so when you present one then I'll address it. So far, you've accused me of being other nics and made insults... hardly debate worthy IMO. Mistri, I do have to ask, are you so bored and miserable that this is how you can best spend your time? Arguing with me on a forum? You claim to be trying to enlighten the world about esophageal cancer, so surely I am cutting into your charity time. Don't waste your life moments angry and arguing with me. Just a thought.

Your dad is terminally ill with cancer, so you must have some insight, right? It would be constructive if you would give some advice regarding what the best nausea remedies are and such. My dad didn't have much nausea with the taxol and carboplatin, but I'm betting he will with this new course. What sort of treatments has your dad had, and what were his experiences? What helped?
