This letter from Jim Cantore explains the situation and asks that if you want them to keep it, you should contact them NOW:

I stopped watching last year when they started giving winter storms names.

All the hype, all the drama and all the insane over the top reporting. I tuned in over the holidays to now see that there is a numbering system.

I get my weather on Accuweather now.

With the cost of directv always going up I want tons and tons of channels available. I don't watch the weather channel much because they are always doing storm stories or shows like that.

I wish we could just pay for the channels we really watch. It would be about 20 and not the 800 plus that are on the guide.

I rarely if ever tune in to TWC and the last time I did I was rather shocked to see that the "local" weather isn't really local to my particular city anymore. It's for a city slightly east of us. While the city is close, it's far enough away that they often get a significant amount of snow more than we get. So the local weather doesn't really apply to us.

I also see where they do a lot of regular programming now, some of it almost like a reality type of tv. I just want the weather.

I wonder why DIRECTV had six QVC channels?

70, 76, 79, 275, 315 and 317

I'd rather they get rid of some of the Q channels and keep the Weather Channel.
