@Mj12  - If it's the same one I'm thinking about, the poster was responding to a 8 year old thread.  The older poster was looking for a fashion item and the new poster said she found it.  She said "I know it's been quite awhile, but I found....".

   Easy.   I did a forum search yesterday for a subject I know has been brought up once or more annually.  The search yielded multi threads on this subject, going back to at least 2012.

Maybe further back, I didn't open them all.

 

I replied to a bumped up old post when I was new. Lesson learned. Since doing that I keep my wits about me and glance at the dates.

I am totally fine with old threads.  Sometimes I reference them for information.  I typically look at the date of the thread.

 

IMHO it is really not a big deal if someone posts on an old thread.

Do the math.
